I´m just about to try this.
Just try to copy all Files from the Discs into 1 Folder on your harddisk. Then apply the Windows 2003 Fix from http://www.speakeasy.org/~dustens/RTW-W2k3.zip to make this game run on Windows 2003 aswell.
Now just burn back all Files to DVDR
Afaik this works.
Edit:
Sorry nope, doesn´t work, the installer complains on disc2 :\
I´ll post if i find a way.

Ok here's what to do:
1) Copy ALL the files from CD1 to a directory. ("C:\Rome_Total_War_DVD")
2) Copy ALL the files from CD2, except "autorun.inf", "Launch.exe", "Launch.ini" and the map "rsrc", from "setup", into the same directory as where you copied the files from CD1.
3) Copy ALL the files from CD3, except "autorun.inf", "Launch.exe", "Launch.ini" and the map "rsrc", from "setup", into the same directory as where you copied all the files from CD1 and CD2.
4) Copy over "Rome - Total War(TM).msi" with the patched one included in this rar file (11.1mb). (It's FINALLY done saving, took approximately 6 hours )
5) Burn the files onto a DVD-R, or create a image, naming it "Rome_TW_DVD". This is the most important part, if you forget to name it, or misspell the name (hence is why I recommend creating an image) the DVD-R is lost. Note tho that it's case sensitive.
Tip: If you go to "C:\Rome_Total_War_DVD\Setup\data", you can replace the exe with a cracked exe and it will install the cracked one. Making it ready to play right after you've installed it This is also recommended as the exe searches for "Rome_TW_CD1" and the DVD won't be found. Renaming the DVD to "Rome_TW_CD1" might work but the installation won't work properly. Obviously I could have named the DVD "Rome_TW_CD1" to solve this problem but that would take all the magic out of it
6) Install and have fun!
