It never was either - and no MMO will ever compete with an FPS when it comes to graphics.

Historically we've seen that games that have scalable engines live (half-life, quake; ut); and games that don't perish. On the other hand, too ambitions projects never even take off (dnf, doom3, many others). If you create something that will work on todays hardware just fine, and scale beautifully on tomorrow's hardware - you got a winner. From the videos, and the various screenshots - I think I might need to upgrade.

The trailer was not supos to get out, it was posted by EA, but was a mistake, not supos to be out yet.
They removed the link, but seem to keep teh video on thier servers. will upload it to rapidshare.
Edit: http://rapidshare.com/files/26696019/t_crysis_alienworld_h264.wmv.html
Use that link if they remove it from the servers.

Wow. I think running that game on my computer would utterly decapitate it. I seriously need to upgrade.

Looks like there may be a DX10 compatability project for windows XP and other systems, would be fun to test but I don't have a DX10 capable card yet.
(Currently only runs a few DX SDK demos but in time it could probably work for most DX10 applications for those who don't want to upgrade to Vista yet, though I'll probably upgrade as soon as the rest of the computer is upgraded)
Not much else to say, Crysis will probably be one of the biggest games this year and it'll be fun to see just how demanding it really is and how the game plays aside from the pretty effects and cool graphics.

DX10 will never be supported on XP by Microsoft.

If they supported DX10 on XP it would give everyone no real reason to go to Vista. I personally LOVE xp pro, and the only reason I'll be going to vista is just for DX10, but that's at least not till some service packs come out.
