You can open core.lvl and the files in the data/common folder with a hex editor. One useful string is "SetReinforcementCount". I've tried changing it but the game crashes. Can anyone else help?

well ima post this here since i got like 10 pms.
go in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc (may be c:\winnt...)
then find a file called "hosts" (if you dont have it, make one)
go to the bottom and add:
127.0.0.1 <press tab> swbfrontpc.master.gamespy.com
Save, exit, play.
Again, this is only if you were getting "Invalid cdkey" errors. So far i got none. Peace,

Does not work here. I tried with and without editing the host file and just about every server will ether say its full when there more than enough spots open or it will stay on the busy screen forever.

got some damn probs with the game!!!
i have the reloaded crack and the language fix!
but i only come to the lucas arts screen then everywere are green pixles und red points and and stuff like that the game is going down!
all other games are working
i formated my pc but doesnt work
all drivers are up 2 date!!
please help me!!!!!
my sys:
p4 3 GHZ @ 3,3 (HT 1, mb cache, 800 FSB)
2 x 512 ddr ram 400 (Twinmos / Dual Channel)
geforce 6800 Leadtek 61.77 and dx 9c
win xp prof no service pack

It could be the lack of at least SP1 installed  |
i got a friend he has no service packs 2, but it works for him!!!!!
i mean every game runs with ultra quality 1600 x 1200 like doom 3 and far cry and older games are running good 2 !
i make some benches and got a lot of points and everything is ok !
but this game wont work, on my second pc it runs, but very slow!!!
whats wrong with the damn game? |

i think i used a key generator ,i only installed 2 days ago i can't remember lol... anyway it works fine online for me

Yeah it works fine for me online. Just some servers it says "Joining game....Busy 1...2....3...4...etc" forever.

i have a geforce 6800 128mb version, and the games graphics are sweet.....
the hoth level is a blast.... and the endor ewoks is great.....
they need to fix the blast radius issue.. i threw some detonators next to guys and they dont die.. and then i shoot a tauntaun and he dies on one shot...
game has potential...

The authentication server was down for the first couple of days but it is up now. That is why some of you were able to play online without a valid key.
You cannot play online now unless you have a valid key.
If any of you want to try it, please prove me wrong.

well you can play the game without a real cd key for awhile but afterward youll start getting invalid key errors but all you have to do is go into the install folder in your bf directory and hit the cd key exe and enter a new cd key and your back in it.

i got the same card but it wont work, but any other game works great!!!!!

on my other pc it works but it sucks with a geforce 4 mx !!!!!!

might be codec trouble with the video intro ,maybe u could try installing the latset Ace Mega Codecs pack ,that should clear up any codec problems

i intsalled the codec pack 6 and still not working!

the game runs great on all my systems, even my old P2-400 with a GeForce3 in it!
great game, i just wish they would cross Homeworld 2 with Star Wars as well.

The auth servers are actually on and off. Right now they're off, but are bound to turn on again some time soon im betting. Anyways, if any of you want to try an experiment that may get u passed the cdkey check:
1) Get ye a firewall
2) Make sure Ye Firewall blocketh IP adresses (Incomming n out)
3) Block Ye IP:
207.38.8.34 (Gamespy Master)
4) Playeth yon game ye scurvy coward
If it doesnt work for joining, i heard it works for hosting (so that other people could join ye game)

hmmm I tried this and I still get invalid key, in etc folder I have 2 host files a host file and a host.ics file the regular hols file already had that ip in it with 'localhost' next to it and the other file had a similar layout to the host file
