Try some recovery program, not sure how gentoo works, but perhaps it didn't remove the MFT, and if it did there is also a mirror MFT. And if all that failed you should be able to recover some of the data even without MFT. Or am I just talking rubbish...

Recovery isn't an option since the header file (the deal TrueCrypt uses to encrypt/decrypt) was totally corrupted. So even if I can get 99% of the data, it's just random data without the header.
