Boring after 2 minutes Laughing

It's more interesting staring into a wall than playing EVE.

EVE is boring. FACT. That doesn't mean it lacks merit however.

As for this... if it's anything like Freespace (and it's the same engine more or less) then it's one of the best action space shooters around. Can't wait to give it a whirl as I also love BSG... match made in heaven Very Happy

You spend more time doing things offline in eve than online.

Shit game, which is absolutely unfortunate because I was super hyped when I read the title.

When you're a retard, and are unable to take action yourself, you probably have that misconception - yes. You said you played the game for a few days. A few days in the game, you have learnt about 1/1000000000000000^10*10 of the game. This isn't WOW with instant-reward, and holding the utterly stupid by the hand.

I like that about EVE, it weeds out the people with comprehension disabilities, which makes it have a very small share of people like you.

The fact that you thought it was boring just makes me happy. It's like saying you got 12 IQ from a MENSA-test and used the very same excuse.

I have about 4-5months of subscription into that game. I gave it FIVE solid attemps, and I got bored in about a week each time. I see that the game has a massive amount of options and it's very complex, but it's plain old BOOOORING. Each time I tried to play it, it was because I heard someone saying X thing is good. So I tought to myself, I haven't tried X, so I might give it a shot again. (X being stuff like PvP etc.).

Basing a game only on it's fun factor, on scale 1 to 10, this game gets a zero.

I really don't understand how can anyone stand waiting tens of minutes to freaking travel somewhere. I understand web-based games like ogame where you send your fleet and wait 10 hours for it to arrive, but you only log in to see that moment. In EVE you actually have to look at the screen while it's doing stuff like that (traveling, mining) because you can be attacked, or you have to engage your boosters for faster travel and shit.

Anyways, I guess it's an subjective thing, and I really tried to get into this game, but, with no offense, I don't understand how can anyone find it interesting.

And I guess I'm not some n00b who doesn't know what is he talking about, because I think I tried, and bought every major MMORPG on the market.

I've played lots of MM games. The fact your bashing those of us who find the game boring based on the fact that YOU like a slow space sim with partial action elements just indicates to me how low YOU are on the IQ scale. Please don't generalize, and please, please, please don't talk like you know shit about the genre and then use WoW as your only comparison.

I am of course, expecting some sort of shit talking reply, but in hopes of avoiding flame wars, I've ignored you and direct anyone and everyone who reads this after my post to try and stay On Topic!

The underlying mechanics of the game do make the experience a boring one. This isn't disputable. Even hardened veterans of EVE will admit this.

It's also not a game that requires vast amounts of intelligence or patience. It's a game that has a dull structure which requires determination and perseverance more than anything else. That it has depth, qualities and so forth isn't to be ignored but to suggest that the immense boredom newbies experience is completely misunderstood and they've fallen into its trap is utter nonsense!

EVE is boring. Congratulations on wading through the beginners swamp - I hope it was worth it for you.

Exactly... There's that much time I'm willing to spend on a game, and if it doesn't become interesting during that time, it's boring, lol.

I've played EVE for well over a year, and I run a corp of over 80+ people where about 5-6 have played since first beta. You're full of shit. They wouldn't be playing the game if it was, as you erronously think "boring". EVE is as fun as you are creative, you have the tools to do whatever you like. If EVE is boring, you're boring. I pvp all the time I'm on, log on, get in a gang, and fight for 5-6 hours. You're telling me I'm bored? Or that pvp is boring? Get a clue.

Please get a clue, you haven't got the faintest idea about what you're speaking of. Just don't embarrass yourself any further. Wonder why some people who play the game for 3 months make 100's of millions, and get within some of the best corporations in the game, whereas some who play all day and all night still can't get out of high-sec because they're too afraid of pirates? Yeah, if you know what to do, and have the brains for it, you can accomplish a lot.

Quote:

It isn't wow, I'll give you that. It doesn't give you a red line from the start of the game to follow, it doesn't reward stupidity, and it forces you to take responsibility for your actions. You lose your ship because you didn't use your brain, well, you don't get it back, your actions have consequences. It's unforgiving, brutal. And the people who needs chlorination to their genepool despise it for that. Dull structure? You haven't got the faintest idea.

That it has depth, qualities and so forth isn't to be ignored but to suggest that the immense boredom newbies experience is completely misunderstood and they've fallen into its trap is utter nonsense!

If you're a noob and you're bored, you didn't do the tutorial (which immerses you into the game) you aren't trying to interact with anyone. Join a recruitment-channel, get into a corp, do missions, trade, get tasks in your new corp. As a noob you nowadays get up to 1 million SP, that can be helpful to any corp. Work as a hauler, make ISK. Have fun. But guess what, you have to take some initiative on your own. No one will do it for you. And if you can't do it, well don't play EVE. I'll be happier for it.

Actually it's quite the opposite, it's those who interact with other people that get into EVE. It's a team-game. So the antisocial people get discouraged by it. EVE, unlike eg. WoW doesn't punish you for not playing, your character develops while you're logged off. So you don't have to grind. Another clueless person shut down.

Any more of you clueless whino's who want to prove their lack of insight into EVE?

So how come I've played for over a year, and whenever I log on, I have stuff to do that are fun? Idk, maybe you got unlucky and just didn't get into a corp where people helped you out (I know some people really can't do anything on their own and prefer being led).

It's OK that you don't like EVE, but to call EVE boring, when the game is as fun as you make it is just proving that you're missing something.

Fair enough, that's the same amount of what you've managed to experience of EVE. :]

Quote:

I really don't understand how can anyone stand waiting tens of minutes to freaking travel somewhere.

I don't. I clonejump, and with warp to zero it takes me 2 minutes to travel through 10 solar-systems. And traveling beyond that is seldom/never needed anyway.

Do you know about jumpclones? I bet you don't. Razz

Quote:

Mining is boring as fuck, I agree. I can't understand people who think that shit is funny. I pirate and pvp myself. And to me EVE-pvp is the best adrenaline-rush I've ever got since being an active NQL Quakeworld-player.

OK, fair enough. I just think you've been unlucky. If you ever get into it again, get in touch with me and I'll help you out.
