Changelog:
- Updated from psp firmware 3.10 to 3.30
- Fixed a bug that could have caused inestability in 3.10 OE after recovering from sleep mode.
- Patched a protection that prevents the firmware to load higher firmware modules.
popsloader note: it won't work on 3.30 OE due to sony rearranging again the module list of pspbtcnf_pops.
(thanks sony for destroying my backwards compatibility again ¬¬ ).
I'll make a new version one of these days to support all current pops in 3.30 OE, 3.10 OE and
maybe 3.03 OE-C.

Changes 3.30 OE-A -> 3.40 OE-A
- Updated from 3.30 firmware to 3.40
- Security patch: Fixed a bug that has been in all 3.XX OE, that caused random data to be written to a location
in lcdc.prx or (in worst case) emc_sm.prx ram space.
- Autboot that is missing since 3.03 OE-C has been reimplemented.
- Improvements in the flasher. It will now generate also the flash1 directories, and it will
check that the dxar is the correct for this update, so no more bricks by accidentally using
other DATA.DXAR.
Note about pops. I recommend people to backup their savedata before proceeding to change them
(Sony has changed the savedata format, and they force you to change the format in 3.40 if you want to play them).
If a plugin to load previous firmwares pops appear, the savedata will have to be in the old format for those firmwares,
that's why it is better to have a backup of them. Psx savedatas are in /PSP/SAVEDATA/[code of game]

Took quite a while, but finally it's here. The Sony PSP Firmware 3.40 first appeared in Korea, and was later rolled out to Japan. Well, we already got quite a glimpse of the changelog from both Asian official sites, but here's a more English-friendly translation What's new in PSP FW 3.40? Thought you'd never ask...
Game
* New for 3.40: Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
* New for 3.40: Saved data from PlayStation format software can now be used on both PSP and PS3 systems.
* New for 3.40: [Certificate Utility] was deleted.
o Information that was displayed in [Certificate Utility] can be checked by the following method.
o Select the icon of the game you want to display information for, press the button, and then select [Information] from the options menu.
* New for 3.30: Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
Network
* New for 3.30: Support for thumbnail images of items has been added under [RSS Channel].
Video
* New for 3.30:Support for thumbnail images of videos that are stored in the "VIDEO" folder of Memory Stick Duo media has been added.
* New for 3.30:The following types of files can now be played in the "VIDEO" folder.
o – MPEG-4/H.264 AVC Main Profile (AVC CABAC) video files of the following sizes: 720 X 480, 352 X 480, or 480 X 272
o *Depending on the data type, some files cannot be played.
Settings
* New for 3.30: [Use Wireless Hotspot] has been added as a feature under [Network Settings].

ill wait till the b revision. the a version just seems like a quick-get-it-out-the-door release so that all the psp nerd fucks shut up and stop pestering him... im not saying this release isnt stable, but i expect b to be more fine tuned.

Well it isn't up to DA to bring tons of features to the table, that's Sony's job... He just keeps up with whatever update is in the Sony FW itself.
The biggest thing, obviously in this one, is updated pops. |

Its not a fucking paper weight maybe you lack the concentration to give real games a try.

I own both handhelds and have done so for a long time and for me the psp has always been the better especially with the customisation and sheer power of the thing, for you to say you've played and possibly completed all the best the psp has to offer is obviously bullshit since you'd probably be playing for a few years solid to have done that!
There are lots of titles that are on the waiting list Devil May Cry,Final Fantasy,Gekido,KOF,GRAW2,CastleVania,Elder scrolls travels ect ect.
Whats not to look forward to? maybe your expectations are too high this isnt a xbox360 you know where a game is released every week theres plenty in the software library to keep you busy for a long long time and if the current list of titles isnt keeping you busy theres the humongous psx library of games that demand your presence.
Just dont kid yourself that theres nothing on the psp that wouldnt keep even the most bored gamers entertained for a while because that really is called ignorance my friend.

Right, those titles are on the WAITING LIST, which by sheer definition means they are not available NOW.... Meaning there is nothing NOW for the PSP owner to play.
Monster Hunter - I put a billion hours into that game, but it's like any other RPG of the sort, after the first million hours you look back and wonder why you did it.
Metal Gear Solid - I made it quite far, no motivation to finish. Just got boring for me, capturing more guys, flip between them in the missions, yawn.
Valhalla - Crap.
Ghouls and Ghosts - Yah... I played this religiously as a kid. I'm not a supporter of the "update the graphics and throw it back in our faces" method of business. Yawn, pass.
Bleach - Crap.
Ridge Racer - Below average racer at best, yawn.
BomberMan - Played way too many of these games over the years, absolutely no motivation to give another rehash any time in my life. Yawn.
DarkStalkers - It's a fighting game... what can I say? It's not a 60+ hour RPG that you can sink time into.. you just... fight. Trust me, I've played plenty of rounds in this, the depth only goes so far. Like I said, games like this have come and gone. This one has gone.
Guilty Gear - See DarkStalkers.
Metal Slug Anthology - Completed in one day with me and a friend on the Wii. No reason to play it here.

LOL! you can control many different types of soldiers from medics to spies to complete certain missions this is mgs how can you not get the motivation to finish? or even get compelled by the story? clearly this game is too much for you I advise you stick to lumines or something thats easier to pick up and play
Actually I havent tried this game yet but yes its not everyones cup of tea and its not supposed to be a complicated affair just your average dungeon crawler and it works well being on the psp you can just pick and dabble with it if you feel like some hack and slash action.

Actually it wasnt just the graphics that were updated this time around you have spells different armor that can be changed in inventory along with new weapons new bosses and the game is insanely difficult, seems you havent played this enough or at all to even make judgement.

I disagree, seen the sprites and the way the psp handles them? ever play this game at the arcade? ever played somone decent online? this game is serious fun some of the moves look so cheesy that finishing somone with them will crack you up and the other guy up

That may be the case but this is a game that is played time and time again and its on the psp in all its glory with wifi this is a blast and will get played over and over the gameplay is simply engrossing.

As I said earlier its obvious you havent given most of those games a fair try and have already reached judgement albeit unfairly, the simple facts remain
* there is more that I can do with my psp that I cannot do with my ds
*there is a better and bigger library of games on the psp than on the ds
*my psp gets played my ds hasnt been touched for 6 months
*my psp is more powerful than my ds.
All in all though if you arent happy with your psp or its not getting used why not sell it? I'm selling my ds so why not cut your losses?

Are you playing Jap imports for your DS? Think if you could speak Japanese the console would be awesome, but I never got why some people play through Jap RPGs without knowing what the frig is going on.

The only reason I still have my PSP is for PS1 emulation (when I get around to finding the games I want to play..) and the new FF7 game.

Advance wars is my favourite DS game I think. Wish Nintendo would release sequals more often. Final Fantasy 3 is too difficult, from what I can remember you start off fighting like three minions then bang, this huge enormous boss that kicks the crap out of you're level 1, 2 potion having ass.

I own both consoles but , FInal Gaystasy 3 on DS is pure shit.
NINTENDGS games are for sick people who like sex with animal ,dogs especially ,shit , "touching dogs with touchpen" ...SICK SHIT!
