Well I took the plunge and decided to have a go with Sky Broadband Max (Upto 16meg).had it installed on Friday and its been Great so far !!!!

Currently only getting 8meg speed but I have been told my line is in the training process and within 10 days should see higher speeds (If not I will phone them to make sure im on ADSL2 or what ever it is) Smile

Was downloading a Linux image at 895kb per sec!!! took about 14 minutes to download the full 698mb image, Also Downloaded a Demo off Xbox Live that was 1.24gb and it only took about 40 minutes Very Happy Surprised

£10 a month for speeds like this, Im not complaining since I was originally paying £24 a month for 1meg with Pipex. So realy its like Im getting Sky TV and over 8 times faster connection for £1 more (£15 for Basic Sky TV package and £10 for Max connection) Very Happy

Lots of people do have trouble with Sky, like any ISP I guess. I got the basic broadband for the one off £40 fee as a backup line to my 10mbit NTL line. Pretty neat, never without the internets!

yes you need a TV Package (Min TV package is £14.99). Dont know about NG support, but if you download less than 40gb a month you can go on their Mid Package for £5 a month for 8meg and 40gb limit (Bringing it to £20 a month for Sky TV and 8Meg internet)...

Ring them up first, they've oversubscribed in a lot of places so cannot offer the faster speeds. As ever with DSL the line can vary so much. TBH £10 a month is a bargain, I'm getting upgraded to 20mbit with Virgin soon but it's costing £37/mo.

Im still on it and I think its great.. I think out of the 74 days or so we have been with them we have had 4 days of having to restart the router to reconnect every hour but other than that its been fine.

For £10 a month you cant realy complain, The max I can get on my line is 8meg so check with them first when you phone them as it says Upto 16mb so you might actually only hit 2meg depending on how old your telephone cables are and how far from the exchange you are... Plus if they have no spaces they will offer you another deal which is crap (something like £20 for a 1mb connection plus £50 setup fees). They had no spaces left for us but after a week their was one ready

The fastest download speed I have had was 895kb per a second and upload was 85kb per second.

Overall im very happy with it especially when knowing I can grab a 4gb file in under 2 hours Smile...

Oh yea, when we phoned we couldnt get hold of them during the day (alwasy busy) so try phoning at night (we phoned at around 9 - 10pm I think and got right through)
