Not enough talkin about Worms here! As if no1 here has some friends who enjoy a game of worms once and awhile?

me and my buds will usually have a game if we get a small lan party together.

Rune and Quake1 are the only two games of the "older" gen of games that i still think rank in the top 10 today, the quake1 gameplay, rocket jumps, Red armor whoring, timing spawns and having the perfect 1v1 strat. not too many games are like that.

Rune was just legendary for amazing melee battles, no game has ever had the Melee aspect and the fast paced FPS feel that rune had.

Worms.
Rune.
Quake 1.

3 games everybody needs to have.

Bought a few good oldies a month back , SimTower , SimCopter , Nuclear Strike ,Gangsters 2 , Populous 3 the beginning and Outpost 2 for only 1euro a piece ! I haven't had the time to try them all but my old cellie 400 (voodoo 1 /2) with windows 98 will be doing overtime in the comming vacation Razz

I'm also trying to get Fragile Alliance playable with a dosbox but IPX doesnt seem to work properly im afraid , same goes for Blood and Redneck Rampage. Also got Blade Runner and Nomad Soul originals lying around but those took waaaaay too much time back then.

And last but not least , Clive Barkers Undying , one of THE best horror games I've ever had the privilege of playing on the pc.

Currently playing quite a few old games such as M&M, Sierra Adventures, Lands of Lore, TES, Wizardry, Gothic, Ultima, EoB and a few other compilations and rarities that I've downloaded from around the net, I also still have the DOS game collection but I haven't checked that many of those since there are about 3000 titles in there.
(Not to mention my complete collection of NES, Snes, Sega, Mame, AMIGA, N64, C64 and other emulators - quite a few games all in all but alot of those are in different languages or hacks of the original)

EDIT: Should probably go back to Fallout and Deus Ex as well sometime since those are quite fun despite their age. (As is the IWD, BG and Planescape serie not to mention alot of other interesting titles such as Divinity and Arcanum)

Guess some Germans made one like it called "Biing!"

Quote:

Similar to Bullfrog’s better-known Theme Hospital, Biing! is a humorous German—only business simulation about running a hospital and making money by treating patients from more or less weird illnesses and injuries. But that’s where the similarities end.

The first, and most important, difference is that Biing! is definitely a game for adults only, even by liberal European standards. When you play it first, you (especially as a male player) can while away the time by clicking all nurses to undress them. Not exactly a strategic or business decision Wink

Second, in Biing! it is hard to survive even a single day (not to mention to win the game). You have to have an at least a balanced bank account at the end of each day. With running cost for personnel and rent, the need to buy equipment and patients who come into to your clinic rather randomly, it took me one (real life) week to survive two (in game) day for my first game. And even when you eventually have your clinic doing fine, one wrong decision can push you into bankruptcy (as happened to me when I bought an ambulance car too early after about 40 hours of playing).

Third, the game has almost no animations, and the pictures do not change with different equipment, so the only way to find out if a certain device is in a room is to check the equipment menu. Same with personnel: You will see doctors or nurses, no matter if they are in the room or not, so you have to click them with your mouse to find out if they are still doing their job or having a break or sleeping at home. The graphics are drawn in the typical German comic style, and except of the aforementioned possibility to strip the nurses, nothing really worth mentioning.

Last, but not least, the game demands a good command of the German language since it never was published in English and the gameplay itself is rather text intensive.

To sum it up: Biing! is neither a Top Dog nor a Real Dog. If you are a German speaker, have an interest in a (somewhat raunchy) hospital simulation, and found Theme Hospital too easy, then it’s probably your cup of tea. All the rest of us would do well to stick to the more playable and forgiving Bullfrog classic. For what it’s worth, reLINE later released the sequel Biing! 2 which adds even more –err—revealing graphics of nurses while keeping basic gameplay more or less the same.

truth be told the only reason we have no RPG's worth playing is cause black isle went under. Best damn group of devs EVER

The majority of the Black Isle team is still together. They're now known as Obsidian Entertainment. They've done a few RPG's since but they don't have the rights to any of the old classics. I'd love to see BG3 come around.

dn3d, shadowwarrior and blood were the most awesome fun multiplayer games of their time and even though other games made them look bad later on, it took at least two years before anything comparable came out fun-factor wise imho.

I still miss the remote ridicule taunts. No game has ever again made it so fun to kill enemies and taunt em with a variety of button presses.
