I mean usually a director adds something of his own (see The Prestige etc.) and in Perfume Tykwer added absolutely nothing. I guess he was too 'afraid' to spoil the masterpiece. As a result we have a book that've become alive and not someone's unque view on it. Which may still be considered as a good approach by some.
p.s. I liked both the book and the movie but I prefer the book |
Oh right, hmmm not sure how i feel about that then i guess in some ways i would be one of the people that considered it a good approach as if the film was changed it would have lost its artistic beauty, although i havent read it yet obviously, however "identical" is probably a bit much i thinbk that the director should have had his own input too.....maybe it wasnt that he was afraid but felt that he could not and would not try to outdo the book by adding anything?!

Just saw children of men last night, and alpha dog the night before, both really suprising movies, both were well done..
Alpha Dog 8.5/10 i was putting it off for awhile because of timberlake, but to be completely honost i think he was perfect in this, ill be looking foward to seeing his others now.
Children of men 10/10 Beautiful, i went into this movie not knowing what to expect at all, i had no idea what the story was about, never read the book, nothing, great movie all the way through.

with people who participate in a prison guard / prisoner experiment? Where things get fucked up and people start abusing their power. Rape. Murder. And everything that can happen happens and stuff?
Never heard of it.

K. So a movie makes you feel real emotions... makes you feel sad and such and you take points out of it because of that?
Afraid of being human

300 = 5/10, 5 for cinematography and FX. 0 for G.W.Bush/Leonidas, persians/Iran and all the pre-Iran-invasion propaganda crap including terrorist masks. Pathetic.

That's just retarded. It has absolutley nothing to with politics whatsoever. Comparing Leonidas with Gbush What were you on when you watched the movie?

Alright, alright. As you wish. It's just a visual masterpiece without any propaganda on subconscsious level. Sure, why not. A mere coincidence.
