i'm currently quite far into the game and dont want to instal the 1.1 patch unless it makes a substantial difference

so:

1. does this patch improve gfx quality like visual distance etc?

2. does it improve performance?

In graphics i don't see any difference but improves performance!

Ok, regarding the official patch:

http://www.stalker-game.com/en/?page=2

1. USA or Worldwide version for "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.Shadow.of.Chernobyl.EMUDVD-Unleashed"?

2. Does it nuke your save games?

3. If 2. = true, why are they such retards?

4. Does it remove, for both ATI and NVIDIA, the extreme lag of the dynamic lightning?

I never played without the patch, but after patching I can confirm excellent performance with everything on max bar dynamic lighting.

The patch changes gameplay a bit... Things break, like Armor and such... Looks like Armor gets replenished after some time... Strange... Plus a few other quirks that was screwed up... Monsters and people ingame are much harder to kill this time around...

I'm not Russian, and I know I ain't lucky. I'm running the game with dynamic lighting and everything on full in 1920x1200, only thing I have turned down a bit is grass density and lighting distance. And that's on my crappy old 4000+ with 2gb ram and a 1900XTX. Laughing Laughing

Game runs well here, maximum game settings selected @ 1360x768 with no tweaks or patch applied. So far it's been an average game, initially the graphics were impressive, but nothing leaps out @ me and screams "this is a great game".

Guess I'll put more effort into playing it some more if I can tear myself away from Virtua Tennis 3 / Command & Conquer 3 and UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 Razz

But the thing is I aint got that bad a computer myself...
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHZ, ATI Radeon 1900GT and 2 gigs G-Skill RAM.

I'm also using the latest drivers.

IMO it shouldn't lag with this kind of gear... Which really aint FUBAR as you mentioned earlier.

Should help with the endings but they are all rather badly explained.
(The two true endings do explain a bit more though)

EDIT: Seems this was already posted, had a feeling i'd seen it somewhere before.

True endings, wrong endings? What a crap! If they are "wrong" then why did they put them in the game?? I will play the game normally like you're supposed to and not with some kind of ending guide. I will be pissed off if I get a shitty wrong ending simply because it's the fault of the game/developers!
I saw no complaints about that, do you all think it's cool to have true/wrong endings? I think it's stupid! An ending is an ending, how can it be true or wrong? If it's there then it's true and it should give you some satisfaction.

If you fail to complete certain stages of the main quest you will not find the required items needed to open the path to the true ending and will get a bad ending instead.

Not that hard to get the correct endings but realising such a mistake when you are already in the reactor can be quite annoying.
(Did most of the quests I found and got one of the better endings, unsure wich of the two are the best but it's probably not the one I got)

YES! You can drive something in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.! An APC actually.

At the Sarcophagus level, when you're running towards it while being attacked by gunships there's an APC firing at you just near that end-of-level entrance that you have to reach before the countdown ends.
Turn on god-mode with the trainer, approach the APC, press F and you get inside!
Next bring up the console and type turn_engine kb, then press B ingame.
And you can drive around!
