I completed the game yesterday, took me about 6-7hrs. I'm very excited about Episode 2.
But one thing I didnt understand is -spoilers- how the fuck does mixing Sodium and Chloride (NaCl) make a fucking bomb? Its just salt or did I oversee something? I had to use trial&error to solve that (last) puzzle.

Yea but isn't it Red Phorphorous and Barium? I already uninstalled the game but afaik the book didn't say anything about Sodium chloride (only Sodium sulfide).
Nevermind, must've overseen it.

I just checked, and yes - its Red Phosphorus and Barium which you combine, ie bottles D&F.

If you remember the explosives book which told you how to make the fuse etc from earlier in the game, there is a recipe at the back of the book which describes the bomb you make at the end. |
Ahh now I get it!
This game is like Macgyver but with monsters in it!

If you remember the way to the electric fence, you come in a big door and then have to go through a normal door on the right.
Before you go through that door on the right, there is shelves on the left. One box contains string. |

Yeah i'm playing it again now, in the daytime though!
How do you get the string out of the box, it won't let me, I can examine the box but not manipulate it in any way.

He should automatically take the string after left clicking the box.
If he doesn't it could be a bug, I encountered 2 bugs (lever stuck, plug not working) during my journey through he mineshafts and the only way to fix them is loading a previously saved game.

liiiiiiiiiiitle sploilers....
there is a gun powder keg in the explosives room behind the electric fence. i tried to put the string in but i keeps saying the hole is to small???? I also wasted my dynamite on the rumble near the north entrance, anyway i can get another stick of dynamite?

I got past opening the gate with the morse code, now there are some dogs everywhere I don't know if I should hide from them or kill them. I killed one by hitting a canister with my pickaxe and throwing it on the dog but got lucky. Hitting the dog with the pickaxe seem to knock them down but they get up pretty fast and kill me before I can do anything. Any better solution?

I used sneaking all the time. I didn't even kill one monster the whole game.

Started playing this at 3pm today and the credits were rolling by 9:30pm. Didnt expect to play it as much as I did at all! It was only supposed to be quick go but thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Nice physics interaction which brought back a lot of HL2 memories and the game also reminded me a lot of Call of Cthulu. Can't wait for the continuation.
