I got a Xbox-360 but i'm also thinking about getting me a PS3, but the big question is: Is it worth it?
I mean right now theres not a hell of a lot of superb games out for it yet, but in the long run will it be worth it?
For you who have it already, what makes the console great, or bad for that matter besides the gaming aspect of it?

I would wait. For more games to come out. Reason i got one over the 360 was for Blu-Ray movies. Other than that, its just collecting dust for now. I think it will be better when more games comes out. Which is takin a real long time.
The integrated wireless is great tho. HDMI connection. And you can load some vers of linux on it.

I doubt we'll be seeing a price drop anytime soon. But yea, there are alot of great games coming soon.
I didnt know if the loader was released yet.

Bah, really don't know whether to buy one or not. I want but it's a lot of money aswell, and i'm bored... easterholiday coming up next week, and my boss made me have a holiday then. So... get one for the holiday or not ias the question

I think in Europe you will see a price drop latest after christmas or earlier because most of the ps3 are at least in germany gathering dust on the shelves due to the price. Many people just import one from japan and save 100 - 150 € right now because the games are region free, which might change sometime soon. I will wait for a price drop and a few nicer games to come out. Until then the xbox 360 lineup should keep me occupied.

I'd wait at least a year, or until there is a specific game you want coming out for it.
Thats what I did with the 360.

I am happy with it. I was kinda skeptical when I got it. But motorstorm and resistance and formula one right now are getting more time than any games on the 360. the wii is the console that is gathering the most dust right now...I might sell it soon as its still profitable do so!!!

Hehe I was planning on waiting for Halo 3 for the 360, but I already want Saints Row, Gears of War, Lost Planet, Crackdown... |

Saints Row, Gears of War, Lost Planet, Crackdown <- the best games on the 360 this far in my opinion  Id also add TDU to the list!
Ive got 360,wii and ps3. If you got a 360 then there is no real reason to get one right now. Sure Motorstrom is a really good game (havent bought any other yet) but i would expect a BIG title like next gen Tekken or Gran Turismo HD for the current price of a PS3. I'm having more fun with the wii at the moment..
I'm using my PS3 as a mediacenter though, and i've got i playing 720p Xvid files with DTS playback in mplayer using linux. Sony have enabled installation of linux on the ps3 straight out of the box. Its not very optimized yet but the ps3 has power enough to be the most hi-end media center on the market with newer versions of linux.
So if youre into that and willing to spend some time on installing and configuring (no linux experience is really required, there are easy step by step guides) its well worth getting!

i could play 720p files on the 360 and ps3 but my best solution is still playing on the pc which is also connected to my 42" lcd. After connecting the pc to the TV I am beginning to appreciate the beauty and quality of graphics in pc games better...lol

PC Games look pretty freaking good on my 24" LCD monitor at 1900 x 1200.
Man... Im glad I Got that monitor.

Basically, unless a hack comes out that needs a certain version, then you better jump on it before the shelf consoles have a version the hack don't work on.. |

Thats why i like that Hd-DVDs are region free. If its exclusive to blueray in the states i can import most of them.
And ill agree that Casino Royals Blu-ray transfer is very good, probably the best i have seen on Blu-ray.
I may get a PS3, but only as a Blu-ray player, becasue it seems like to only Blu-ray player that will be able to support the new BDJ standards. But im waiting till October, dont want to be like the rest of blu-ray owners left with outdated, non BDJ players.
I still perfer HD-DVD, but as a tech whore, i would like a Blu-player as well, if the studios still stay exclusive that it. Matrix Box set in may on HD-DVD, cant wait.

After a lot of thinking and frustration I bought myself a PS3. I'm very happy about it. Got motorstorm atm.

I tried and it asked for an update, but I thought I've read somewhere that it shouldn't be needed.

i'm starting to see a few games that interest me in a PS3 ie motorstorm,gta iv and few others, but since getting a 360 some time ago and dealing with microsft and failed drives and so far no overheating issues, im wondering how the PS3 stands out, ie better hardware smoother game play, any thoughts would be great. thanks in advance
