Can someone tell me what region RELOADED's Shivering Isles is? USA or UK? And for that matter, how can I determine what region my Oblivion iso is? NFO's never seem to indicate this information anymore. This is important stuff, especially when the developer has different patches available for different regions. I'm getting some strange errors and crashes since I installed Shivering Isles, and I've never seen this happen before.

scene oblvion was US - rld SI is US too


no rld si was EU. Since EU version has no protection in the setup.exe

Is it only me? - somehow Oblivion performance got worse after installing patch and add-on. Everything seems to work so far, but all the optimizing in the oblivion.ini no longer seems to enhance performance as good as before.

Could it be the patch changes something in the 3D engine, too, so that you have to modify your oblivion.ini again to get best performance?

Did anybody else notice that, too?

(by the way: Shivering Isles is nice so far, the new monsters are pretty hard...)

A little bit offtopic, but can anyone suggest a good leveling mod. I just hate oblivions shitty leveling system. I would like a mod where you just level normaly by increasing your major skills without worrying about those x5 multypliers and not worrying about macromanaging. Ty

This mod gives you the max +5 bonus at level-up for up to 3 attributes where you have made even one skill level-up since your past level, allowing players to simply play the game as they desire and still get good attribute increases without tedium and head-banging.

I think everyone here who is running Shivering Isles should be aware of a critical game breaking bug that has been found recently. Apparently, a script in the expansion causes a glitch that keeps generating item IDs every other frame rate that eventually render any new in-game items unable to be retained when saving. This will make any existing savegame since the installation of the expansion crap out and become unplayable after a certain number of hours. Might want to hold off installing the expansion until a fix has been issued....

Edit: There is now a player-made fix that stops this problem but some of you may just want to wait for an official fix from Bethesda...

I have the reloaded release and only have the original with the first crack. Anyone who can show me how to install this because I got confused with all the patches lol

Install Oblivion, install 1.2 patch and then install Shivering Isles and the KotN compilation if you have it. Smile

If you install Oblivion and then install SI your version number will be 1.2.0201 instead of 1.2.0214 wich may cause problems with mods and utilities wich is most noticable with OBSE since it doesn't work on the older 1.2 patch used in Shivering Isles. Smile
(Kinda weird of them to do it that way with two 1.2 patches)

I think I got to version 1.2.0214 one point but the crack wouldn't work. This is what I did: installed the original from beginning, installed 1.2 patch(Oblivion_v1.2English.exe) and then installed SI. I get incompatible version or something when I load game.

How does this expansion work in relation to the original game? Do I have to play through the original game in order to play the expansion, or?

You get a new island with a portal on it in the waters outside Bravil and you are free to enter and exit that portal whenever you feel like it, no real changes to the original world aside from that and a very small change to the shrine of Sheogorath quest.

You will also get a journal update after a game day if you don't visit the portal directly.

The 1.2 patch has a bug with nvidia cards. If you keep crashing uninstall it. I think shivering isles installs it aswell though, so you might be slightly screwed Crying or Very sad

Game works here , if you have the procyon first patch Oblivion to 1.2 then install the addon from reloaded , then add the fixMOD found on wiki , links UP there and play

(It's been announced/known about since before the Orrery plugin actually. )

This one will be a free to download for a short while before becoming a normal pay-to-use DLC.

I still have it installed actually, due to various mods, same with NWN2 and Gothic 3.
(Gothic 3 is more or less dead though but I never played trough the entire storyline and am currently waiting for the next unofficial patch, NWN2 got restarted since the expansion was just released.)

an island should pop up somewhere after 2 or 3 day/night cycles i think. and you will get an invitation into the shivering isles

or not really an island. more like a gate on a small island Smile
