Is this "unofficial Patch" compatible with Patched 1.00000000000001 version ???

I created my own MOD, but the Traders dont sell all the weapons like I wanted...
Shit they dont sell a damn thing I wanted them to...

Thanks to V1.00000000000000001 fucking Patch, the game doesnt Mod friendly... Sad

Damn, I was excited there when I saw 'unofficial patch' and thought that it meant that someone fixed actual bugs and problems in the game, but that's not a patch at all. It's just another mod that tries to totally rebalance the game according to someone else's whims. It reminds me of what happened with the VTM: Bloodlines unofficial patch too.

ok in dark valley now... in the vault... minor spoiler alert:


so i see flying boxes hitting me... my question is... is anything scary waiting for me further inside?? I DO NOT LIKE UNREALISTIC HORROR.... bah.. why can't i just fight humans... i'm gonna leave the game for a while to give my heart a break.. hit the gym maybe and come back and find a way to go through with this ..

Wow I love this game, it feels so dynamic.

Very minor spoilers from the beginning:

Just wanted to check something. After taking that farmhouse from the bandits as your first mission, I returned there later only for there to be a group of 4 stalkers heading over there. So i follow them, and find the stalkers from the earlier attack who I had left around the fire all slaughtered. Then a group of bandits attack, and all hell breaks loose. Plus, I found that guy Nimble who you rescue the first time, lying in a tunnel being fed upon by dogs!

Also, when first crossing under the broken bridge which the military are guarding, there was a massive (about 18 ) bandit attack going on against them. There is also that wounded guy who you find, and after healing him a large pack of dogs attack. Well after we fought them off, some stalker came running over and shot him, after all my hard work keeping him alive!

Is this scripted, because it didn't feel like it.

@AnimalMother: There are some scripts. But that kind of coincidence happened to me, too.

@MadMax: SPOILER: If I remember right at the end of the level there is kind of a "sorcerer/witcher" who sucks you to himself and bumbs you away right after that, so you see his face just for half a second. I was shocked because of the suck/bumb effect and his face. You can't kill him! Run away. You will see him later once again..... Wink

Ah the lab X16. The poltergeist (flying boxes) are like the scariest u encounter. The atmosphere makes the game scary at some points.

@animal_mother, didn't happen to me. He stayed alived as far as I know.

The mindfucker is kinda fun and annoying .... and you can kill him, just peek around the wall and shoot Smile

None of those things are scripted. Well, bandits do attack certain spots now and then, and soldiers often retaliate after you slaughtered a whole outpost (ex. under the bridge).

I didnt thought that this brainiac will show up so early in game :/

Entire mag in head didnt worked, 1 nade did.


After u enter military warehouses and take out that neutrals camp u get pretty much best weapons in game.

thanks... odd, i remember that guy from the other undergournd level... umm the first one... that first underground level linked you to a science facility where you got a brief case for barkeep... i was running around after killing all the military and suddenly i get sucked into him but iwasn't even CLOSE to where he was.. he kept doing it OVER AND OVER with no damage to me.. so finally i got tired and ran up a man hole and left...

so we meet again eh... oh and i found a way to stop these ghosts from throwing all these boxes at me... i just break all boxes with a sniper from far away ..hahaha take that you stupid ghosts...

Just finished the Stalker with two ending. The false one sucked ass but...

THE TRUE ENDING WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! It includes its own level and totally worth it, trust me!

To get it you need to talk to Guide then Doctor - then discover secret stash in Pripyat to find a decoder to secret lab in Chernobyl.

True ending is simply awesome!

There are three true endings. In case you decide not to join C-consciousness, you will be brought back outside of reactor and will have to go through various gravitational jumps to reach the ultimate ending.

I just got two nasty bugs:

-Some people say that their game "freeze" every few seconds. Here, my char just stops every -let's say- five steps. Walking or running.

It's not the loading/streaming, since the rest of the game does not freeze, nor the FPS drop. Also, it's not performance because so far it worked fine. And I recently found that with an old save or when I start a new game, it works ok.

Also, the stopping is consistent: it's always at the same amount of steps.

I believe that it has something to do with the SEVA suit and/or the Crystal artifact. If you think that walking all your way is boring, try with stopping ever 2 seconds.

-The second problem is that I permanently got irradiated. No matter where I stand, once I remove the SEVA, the radiation start to rise. No other suit can stop the poisoning. Not even that environment suit that you get from the scientist. Only the artifacts or the SEVA can keep the radiation at bay. I even went back to the very beginning (1st dealer) and it's just the same.

So I either keep using the SEVA, or use all the radiation medicine and die.

The patch description does not seems to refer to that problem, so not sure if I should apply it and restart all over again. I'm already in the Freedom base... Sad

Great game otherwise. But they definitively should increase the 1 day limit for submissions, increase the weight limit to 60 and fix the problem with the missions that keep repeting over and over. And the GSC forum isn't working at moment..

yah i've had that since the start augury... its not all the time, but still the problem that the game doesn't lag become a problem when you are storming a military area... but meh

for the radiation... very odd.. you sure your artifacts dont have high radiation?? ( i am guessing you are smart enough for that though)

Yeah. Actually, I tried the old trick of removing everything from the inventory (including the artifacts) and save/reload, to sort of "clean" the memory, but not luck.

Oddly enough, it worked for a few seconds, after jumping several times to drain my stamina (again, to "reset" the char state). It could walk smoothly for 5-10 seconds but it appeared once again. Rolling Eyes

The poisoning had already happened once, but after a few reloads, it somehow disappeared. Unfortunately, is not the case now. Don't mind that much. Just have to use the SEVA for the rest of the game. But the stopping.. I think that I know what it is:

It behaves just like when you are "out of breath" and have the running key active: the char will run for a few seconds until the stamina is drained, stop, and automatically start to run again. Except that in my case, I have no stamina problems and occurs even when walking. Exactly every X amount of steps... no more, no less.

Just my luck...

I'm well aware that firing a pistol doesn't make me special. All I was saying is that I have (two or three times, and I suck), which is more than most people. Like someone who has actually driven a car understands driving a bit more than someone who hasn't, it does give me a little insight into what's involved, which not everyone might have. Sorry if you've met some people who think a ton of themselves for having time and inclination and money to burn to get good at it (it takes a lot) and think too much of themselves for it. I'm not in here to say Stalker should be realistically hard. I think the rifles are probably too inaccurate (for a game especially). All I was saying is that the pistols shouldn't be as accurate as the rifles. If someone wants to mod the rifles to be more accurate, I'd just urge him to leave the pistols alone, so they have a different purpose in game (which I think is justified in terms of gameplay and not just to be "realistic"). They cost less, and should suck a little more. It's like having knives and swords in a fantasy game (I've never swung a sword btw, before you go off again Wink ). They should have different purposes. Rifles right now suck about as much as pistols, so people are going to want to fix them, I just think it would be misguided to fix the pistols along with them.

i'm currently quite far into the game and dont want to instal the 1.1 patch unless it makes a substantial difference

so:

1. does this patch improve gfx quality like visual distance etc?

2. does it improve performance?
