Supreme Commander: Slow Paced RTS with micro management as an essential part of the gameplay.
C&C Series: Quick fast paced, micro strategy and a classic storyline which has been intended to please the C&C fanbase.
Overall a direct comparison is silly and should be avoided... This new RTS is only trying to upgrade its franchise just like Supreme Commanded did to Total Annihilation and so far every fan I have talked or experienced who enjoyed the predecossers loved the sequels aswell.

definitely agree. SC is a game for strategy nuts. Planning and taking your time etc etc.
C&C is, and always as been, about the tank rush. You can strategise, but it's far too incomparable to the massive, massive maps offered by Supreme Commander.

Hell even that is hard this time around... They have made alot of various +/-'s to the units all around. Meaning you have to mix to have a effective rush/attack. Though the good old mammoth tank rush seems to work still...

the mammoth rush is a little disheartening to me. I've always dreamed of a C&C where strategy was pinnacle.
So far, it always comes down to 'if you can build the best units, and alot of them...... winnar'
And because of that, i've always felt my victories were unfair. I mean, when the hell does the computer rush you?
in regards to C&C, how cool are the Scrin (just had a quick look in skirmish.... don't want to ruin it too much)?

Is there anyway to use the original unit skins instead? I've checked around in the files and config files but i havent found anything, just the Kane-maps.big thing, but thats the maps so..
I cant stand the green scrin tripod skin 
The scrin are extremely cool, especially when you are red 
I really like the style of each race, tough and for you that say that mammoth spamming is the only thing to do, the only tactic.. Geez, you can get out about 20 standard tanks before you get 10 mammoth tanks, and 20 tanks will kill most of those 10 mammoth's.
Not to mention the ammount of base defences you have time to build.
Its easy to withstand the mammoth's, you just gotta be smart and just not sit there and take it, like with every other tactic counter
What gamespeed do you guys play on? I find that 75 is more fun in skirmish, the slider is at 100 by default. 100 is too fast and 50 is too slow lol. 75 feels just like the good old C&C.

Supcom: Ground-breaking new gameplay, but the single player campaign sucks balls.
C&C3: Old-school RTS that doesn't refine or come up with anything new, but instead polishes the formula which has been going for decades. Great single player campaign.

Damn, just finished reading the eurogamer review of CnC 3 (still dling,lol) and it was the most stupid,uninforming,boring,repetitive review I've read in my life. It was the writing that annoyed me, not the game opinion stated. Even worse than the Gamespot review of stalker, which failed miserably to inform me of what was coming ...
Anyway, I have a feeling I'm gonna like this game, I place a lot of emphasis in single-player,FMVs etc.
EDIT: Shit, even the screenshot comments are idiotic.

C&C is not your regular sort of RTS. It's about making units and sticking them infront of enemy units.
AI is never a strong point in a game like this.

I played and love RTS from DUNE 2 (1994 ) to today...and if you like those fancy RTS-es today...tha ..seems to me that you are nothing but homosexual frustrated individual , who jerk off on "SHADERS 3.0" , "HDR" , and doesnt make a difference between good game and your gay porns
