so there is a real DVDR with menu and uncompressed MPEG2 video out or what ? The only release i can see is the 300.DVDSCR.XviD-NEPTUNE.

 You have the founds to build a super-mega home-theatre, but can't spare 10 dollars or whatever to see a movie? Bullshit.
Edit: To reply to your other comments, that shite doesn't really happen at the movies, it's just what non-movie-goers say because they are cheap.

what dirtymurt says is fine, i agree with it... why pay a shitload of money to sit on crappy chairs surrounded by people who cant shut the fuck up?
id rather watch movies on my leather recliner with 7.1 surround any day. theatre experience my ass. id rather have the comforts of home with a kickass entertainment setup... beer only 2 steps a way, noone to ruin the movie...
only reason i ever go to the cinemas at all these days is if i want to support an excellent product by paying to see it, and THATS the only reason ill see 300 in the theatre. and most likely buy the bluray directors cut release

Does u guys know that this movie has nothing to do with history.
In this movie its all about West vs East where Sparta is the good one and Persia (now IRAN) is the the wild and barbaric. In this time Persia was very advanced.
Their leaders were very tolerant with conquered people.
Greek was not conquered because Persia was not very interested in it, greek was very poor.
This movie is just an anti-Iran propaganda made by Warner Bros.
There are many people that does not know anything about history and they will believe that Persian people were barbarians.
What a shame!!!

For me, 300 is basically a lot of blood letting and fantasy battle epic. Tremendous (at times) to watch, and experience but on any other level than visceral it's a vacuous wasteland (it's also intensely boring on occasion). I can't speak of the historical accuracy, because firstly it was never intended to be historically accurate and secondly I know very little of the era or the battle itself.
It's not politically correct, but it is a very polarized and distorted portrayal of two sides which whips up a fervour at a point in time where 'Persians' are increasingly vilified and demonized. I can watch this, stomach it and enjoy it no less but I just wonder whether there are those out there who are getting more out of it than I (Just listen to neo-nazi's discussing film for instance, you might be surprised).

whoever takes more out of this film than it being pure entertainment should be shot.
having yet to see the film, but being an owner of the comic, i can honestly say the vilification of the persians is inconsequential considering the nature of the story. i mean, just look at the deformed characters and you'll realise this is fantasy in the same league as Lord of the Rings, and therefore should be interpreted as such.
and yes, frank miller is a mastermind, i know 300 is not story driven but it is also not the extent of miller's work.

Frank Miller made a fictionious comic "300" in 1998 which was based around his view of an ideal heroism which he saw in the previous adaption of Battle of Thermopylae named "The 300 Spartans" which was a 1962 film. Making these insane testimony and actually believing suchs are highly ignorant and I suggest you go read up instead of posting 2 links you have found on IMDB.com
