that's sick... i love it Laughing

and what's that energy drink for? it doesn't seem to restore my health, does it help against radiation?

Have you tried pressing X once while running?

Energy restores stamina which is used for sprinting/jumping.

ign stalker review

6.0 Presentation
The story is decent in concept but poorly told. Nebulous, badly compressed cinematics do little to inform. UI / PDA can be clumsy, though it still functions.

7.5 Graphics
The overall effect of the visual package is gripping, though many of its parts aren't that impressive on their own. A demanding game in terms of system resources, and the framerate often hitched.

8.5 Sound
Though the NPC voices sometimes overlap excessively, there's much about this game's audio to love. If only the guy on the loudspeaker near The Bar would shut up once in a while.

8.0 Gameplay
Highly entertaining gun battles, though bugs pop up more often than they should.

8.0 Lasting Appeal
A sizable main quest with numerous, though limited, diversions. An ample amount of space to explore, and a pretty good multiplayer mode.

8.2
Impressive OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

almost. when i have taken the special mission thing from that bar dude!! when im going to take that milita paper things, and at that place were im gooing to kill that bandit leader. When im there at that place it starts to fuck, i can´t go to the bar and i can´t go any further in that garbage place. i think i wait for a trainer or something Crying or Very sad

Umm... you're definitely bad with this game. The only moment when you HAVE to cross a rad zone is AFTER the documents when they send you to infiltrate the X-18 lab.
The bar and everything is perfectly accessible. Just don't go into the fields with the rad signs - walk around them.

About the aim issue.

I like that not every bullet hit exaclty where you aim, but the first guns in STALKER is just to mutch. I mean i have seen the bullets fly something lik 45 degrees to the right or left if you shot without zooming. Its just ridiculous.

But now when i have played some more hours and got some better rifles the aim is more like it should be.

About the more natural borders. They could have just made the landscape and let the player find out that its to radioactiv to go there for him self. Then there is mountains and water that could also have been used. Would have made the atmosphere even better imo. I though you where abel to move ALL over the map. Not just 60% of it, thats why i was a bit sad to see those barriers.

But the more i play it the more i like it. Clearly one of the better games as of late (not that it have had very hard competition Rolling Eyes )

h/w problem. crashing and freezing is the least common issue discussed on all forums. personally the only bugs I can complain about:

1) Engine-based cutscenes sometimes are triggered only if you pass some spot. Take another approach route and you don't get it. Doesn't affect gameplay.

2) You can't jump over some fences. I climbed some crate/barrel pile and wanted to jump over the fence but couldn't do it - just kept running on top of it. But I wasn't supposed to be able to do it and it's not common - you can squeeze yourself or climb up to much more complicated spots.

3) Some minor "help us fight off mutants" quest you get over the radio are sometimes auto-failed cos you can't possibly reach the spot in time. Happened twice but didn't affect the NPC attitude towards me although they called me a piece of shit or smthg ))

Btw im looking for the sniper rifle that belong to the man in the bar. I was standing exactly where the point said it should be, but it was nothing there :/ Where is it?

Any one found the nice armour in the same area? I found it and it was night, was gonna return to the bar and all of a sudden, from nowhere, i got attacked by this big mutant. Shiet i almost shit my pants on that one Laughing Dont know if it was scripted or not, cus it just went dark when he came. Either it was that or it was that i took the armour.
*SOLIER*

Its actually underneath you. Remember the road that goes underground that leads past all of the electical shocking anomolies? Yeah. its past them. I recommend throwing a bolt till they shock it, and quickly darting past till they recharge.

Yeah, those NATO guns (not the LR300, but the scoped ones) you get at the trainyard where the hunting rifle quest is are great. All you whiners should be satisfied. Two-three shots and down goes the military guy. And that's just the beginning - still a dozen of better guns ahead.

The mutant with tentacles is always there. Thank god I stumbled into him during the day or I'd shit myself too ))

WTF?! This game crashes more often then an alcoholic behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. I pinpointed that this is ESPECIALLY bad after a quicksave. I love the atmosphere especially since i understand what the campers are saying in russian. Some of the jokes they tell are pretty funny. But WTF is with the crashes?

Ahh yeah and? I can say, ahh and you have an NVidia. Please if you don't have something logical to post, don't post. Wtf does ATI have to do with shitty code that crashes at quicksaves?! No other game I have crashes like this. My PC is rock solid. The freaking game crashes with stupid X-ray engine report bug errors to desktop. That TELLS you it's a game error.

I'll repeat again: there's almost no complaints about crashes and freezing on different forums. So it's an exception which is perfectly normal. Only consoles with onle and only h/w config available are bugless.

99% of game errors are memory-related. swap memory with some friend and I bet it won't crash anymore
