Yes, Getting it now, I got the hydro version and that has problems, Played around half an hour of it, Got to where you release your pegasus from the stone hand and after that nothing game wont load, Just says loading in the bottom right and stays like that, So i'm getting this one, 3rd time lucky after the DVD9 then the hydro releases, Will report back, See how this one pans out.

The newsgroup release works fine, works in widescreen mode too (although this misled me a little, I thought it somehow included the widescreen movies on a dvd5! but alas, it isn't so)

Well the Djpelle version is 100x better than the hydro, The video quality is very good, The file size of hydro .iso is 3.95GB and video quality is awful, But Djpelle is only 3.48GB and video quality is top notch, Also runs like a dream, Got past the 2 parts that i got stuck on the DVD9 and hydro release, So this is the one to get if you haven't got it yet.

I'm sticking with the downsampled version b/c there is no point to play the game and miss cut scenes and let it even show u diff cut scenes to parts ur not up 2 yet.

wtf is usenet? All I found was .nzb files, I don't know how to open those. What kind of software do I need to download with usenet because it isn't free.

A guy named Hursty did a DVD9 Rip and shrunk it to DVD5 and I must say he did a very excellent job, even though the video were downsampled they still look good.

Hi everyone. I don't know if someone can help.
I tried to burn the dvd9 iso file with both ImgBurner and Alcohol but I only get the 1st layer burned (checked with Apache3) event if it's saying in both software that the full disc is burning.
I patched the iso with the toxic patcher. Is there a sure way ti burn both layers?
I'm using a nec2500A with a nec 2510A firmware. Could it be the cause? I thought that this burner could burn dvd+rl media with these new firnwares.
Thanks for any help

Most many releases dvd5 of GOW2 on the net, but which it works fine???

dvd5 rip status afaik
hydro = borked, crashes at a certain point, and bad quality video and unpacking error whivh can be got round
God.Of.War.2.NTSC.PS2DVD5.REPACK.PROPER = same as above just repacked to avoid the unpacking error
gow2 blackcats=fully working in normal screen mode (no widescreen), but poor quality vids... (used early rip method, meaning radical downsampling had to be done to keep within the size limit, better ripping methods are available now, leaving more space for better quality vids)
djpelle version= good quality video and working, no widescreen (relinked to normal) but has linking errors with a couple of cut scenes meaning the wrong one is played... (if you read the ripping thread at 'alucard', you will know this was not djpelle's fault and a fix for the ripping /linking kit error which djpelle used has already be posted) .. maybe djpelle could do a 'djpelle proper'
2xdvd5 version= the first disc is the earlist rip with only half the game up to the Icarus bridge, movies are full quality and with widescreen working.. disc2 is the whole game data but only the 2nd half (from Icarus bridge crash point) video/cutscenes which are downsampled but still great quality, but widescreen mode is ripped and not relinked correctly, so you must not set widescreen mode when using disc 2.
dvd5 hursty= fulling working in normal screen mode (no widescreen), but fairly poor quality vids ...again.. (used early rip method, meaning radical downsampling had to be done to keep within the size limit, better ripping methods are available now, leaving more space for better quality vids)
...soon we should get at least a full working dvd5 with no errors with just normal screen in good quality and hopefully a proper 2xDVD5 will be released too which has widescreen fully working as well (or 1xdvd5 widescreen only vids only is also possible)

GOW2 dvd5 usa IND version by cheops= should be perfect for normal screen.. uses latest method (the fixed one from the one used by djpelle). This is from the guy who made the ripkit himself (Cheops), should be perfect.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

So this means ALL cutscenes are there? (And they also were in the DjPelle version, just some bad relink..?)

Thank fuck for pirates here in Thailand or Thiefland as one friend puts it, I got my copy about a week ago for less than a quid and it works fine, god knows what version it is if it's a Dvd 9 or Dvd 5, I know it has the Toxic patch on it tho

btw... Cheops released a WS ripkit on alucard a few hours a go.
