Anyone running Vista and have savegame problems, F6 quick save or ESC and save game somtimes kicks me to the desktop ???

i got some graphics artifacts after 20-30 min of playing on a core2duo e6600 stock-settings/cooling with gf 7900 gtx (stock cooling).
Dont know what it could be...
about OS: win xp sp2, video drivers: tweakers r us 97.92

Yeah I have had the same problem with it in vista. It's really annoying. |
You had that problem..... ??? do you not have them anymore and what did u do to solve it..... |

I have no geometry in this game. It starts up and all I can see is the sky all around me...can hear the dude talking to me, etc but there's no walls or floors, etc. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I think it's because I have two names in my windows user profile, because the saves have my name in them. I can't seem to figure out how to change my name in the existing profile. Help anyone?

AMD 4000+, 2gb ram, and X1900XTX here.
I have no framerate problems whatsoever (I don't know the fps, but I don't have any lag). I'm running with Full Dynamic Lighting, the only things I have turned down a bit is Lighting Distance and Grass Density.

Again what driver are you running on what gracrad? . Try with the latest driver for your card and check if it is compatible etc etc. |

Game works great for me, but I do get some weird artifacts in the sky. It dosen't seem to update properly so all i get is stretched graphics. Trying to fiddle with the setup,I'll let you guys know what i find.

Medium/Low end machine report:
1024x768
Medium Settings
Static Lightning (this is the thing to tweak for machines like mine)
Smooth game play. 90-124 FPS(!!) on Fraps (check my sig for machine stats). Trying to snap a screenshot for you all but F10 refuses to work.
I was getting 14-20FPS with Dynamic Lighting on.

Thats almost the same spec as my machine.
AMD 3400+, 1GB DDR, 256MB 6800GT.
Game runs very bad even with dynamic lighting off. HDD just goes nuts and lags to hell. I am running Vista however .........................
I assume you are not?

Quicksave is F6 but if your F keys are not working for whatever reason then that information isnt much good to you lol.

Thanks for the reply buddy. I'm running a 8800 GTS with the latest beta drivers. I noticed if I turn off all the dynamic lighting in the game options, the geometry shows up again. Sadly it looks pretty poor - what could it be with the dynamic lighting that's turning the entire game invisible?

That could be your bottleneck. What kind of HDD do you have?

I seriously doubt it unless is HDD is old (damaged) , extremely fragmented or slower than 5400 RPM.I have a system like him (except a 3200 instead of 3400) and the game runs very smooth with everything maxed/AA&AF and no Dynamic Lightning.I am running it on XP though
I suspect that Vista is the culprit in his case

I'm getting some artifacts too on my 6800GT but only when it rains.I don't think that it has anything to do with GPUs overheating but more with a bug in the game since many people seems to get them and on different systems.
