Wow. So much better than I ever thought the combat in an MM would ever be. Such a fan of the action type system, hack and slash shit. Looks fucking fabulous. The part when he bashes with his shield, kicks him then runs his sword through blew me away.
The graphics are nothing short of stunning and I have never been more hyped for this. Just hoping for some more information regarding endgame content and how pvp is going to progress.

lol
oh well, I don't have a problem paying 12$ a month for a good game, considering 12$ a month is nothing when you have an average job.
Just drink 3 or 4 beers less a month.

SpykeZ, unfortunately, for you, you better start getting used to "pay to play". IT will become more and more frequent and single player, crackable, PC games at least, will become less and less frequent.
...is the truth.

If you look at the microsoft online network for the 360, its pay to play online, and pay for content. Expect a lot of games to start heading in this direction. People want records, they want online scoring systems, and this is going to cost money. $15 a month is nothing, its like going to see a couple of movies, which I bet people visiting nforce don't do anyway or buying a DVD, which people on Nforce probably don't do much of
Crying to pay to play a game is getting old, it's been around a long time.

1) Shove it.
2) Keep paying and playing all this mmo shit that comes out.
3) Browse around some forums and copy others' bashing lines, because you suck.
4) Did I mention you should shove it?

btw, I could agree to doing it on a console cause you pay what for 360 online, 60 bucks for a whole year. That's nothing considering that's including every game that's able to go online. MMO's on the other hand each one you have to pay every month, so WoW...is what..20 everymonth? Then what if you stop playing and don't wanna play anymore? all that money down the drain, console if you stop playing a game you still got the other ones.
moral...
mmo's suck

At least Funcom is much nice with prices than other MMOs. And they let you play Anarchy Online for free...

Just to kill the hype of this game some more... The combat system of AoC, I'm pretty sure after browsing a lot, will be pretty similar to the one of "Neocron", with no collision detection etc and most if not all attacks pre determined by the dice...

Yea you tried to kill the hype earlier. It's not dice based besides how much damage is done through a set value on a weapon.

Their search feature on their forums.. well can't find the word 'combat' anywhere.
And honestly, I don't want to hunt through like 50 pages of threads.

pvp - daoc so far im hoping conan is gonna take the throne
pve - lotro/eq2/wow/ddo
biggest flop: VG, harharhar!
and no .. eve is just a waiting game not even qualified as a mmo damnit "oh ill park my ass in this station with the vault full of skills then ill log in once a month to switch training til im uber and can own all teh n00bz" |
I was a bigger fan of the SB pvp and the PVE in EQ1 was much better than EQ2 IMOZ, but of course IMO.
I agree with your statement about how its breaking from the current mold. I've been desperately hoping for freshness in the genre. I've been pretty much disappointed moving from AC/EQ to AC2 and beyond. Every game including AC2 until now has been a fair disappointment overall to me.. I guess its true what they say about classics.

I've done the browsing myself. The most I've gathered is that there is a dice system in place for critical hits, but not for regular combat. Because the combat isn't "Sticky" there isn't really an ability to just have a dice system any more than there is a dice system in any other action game.
I mean, until a developer comes out and states "There is strictly a sticky, dice based attack system out" I don't see either of us winning the argument. Of course, if you can prove me otherwise, I'd be happy to concede.
