.ogg (Ogg vorbis) is one of the best audio formats today together with MP4 container formats and the WMA 9. Converting lossy (.ogg) to another lossy (.mp3) formats is not recommended, you will loose some quality that way.

Just what I told him. It's pretty stupid. Maybe he want's to move it to a mp3 player that don't handles .ogg. If that's the case he should get a .mp3 version instead of converting.
