1. is already out there some private server patch? i think it should go as it was done before with Battlefield2. With private server patch u can join server with any cd-key.

those games are different... in battlefield 2 you were able to create at least a lan server... while TDU offers no server creation at all...
btw... vista itself is not the problem... but graphics drivers for it are very... lets say... "bad" at the moment ^^

Damn FireFox crashing everytime you want to write in a Forum...
Anyway, it takes 730 Meg when Im Idling on my machine...

Did you actually read about SuperFetch? What you see in your taskbar is not the actual Os usage. It's OS usage + SF usage. SF usage is removed if a mem-intenssive app. needs the mem.

Headlights are actually mentioned as "Warning Flash" under controls, dashboard. Enter is the default button for it.

same here m8 yet another over hyped game which fails to deliver |
I really don't see what hype about this game isn't there in the final game. Lots and lots of kilometers to explore, a wide carlist, lots of people online you can race against, lots of challenges to see if you're up to beating everyone else in a certain track etc. What else did you expect of TDU? Cheesy cutscenes (anyone remember "5 grand. 5 GRAND!"?) between races, hot (or not) models appearing now and then, or a game whose races won't keep you on it for more than say... a few hours until you complete it?
Sure, some (picky or not) people have complained about unrealistic physics/sounds, there ARE bugs that have to be fixed, but your complaints are on a whole new level, on the game being pointless and boring. Just because you don't finish a "campaign" or "story-driven" thingy in a few hours doesn't mean it's pointless. Unless that's your idea of interesting.
Problems aside, for me TDU is all an open-world multiplayer game should be. As I said, there's too many kilometers to drive around, the multiplayer lobby's never empty of races, and there are some guys in there that are just too damn skilled and others who are too damn stupid, enough cars to wet anyone's appetite, and so on. All these make for a combination that you can't call boring, really.

Some people just need that stupid, cheezy NFS story. To them, a game that is open-ended with no real story is boring...

True. Really true. That's probably the same people that won't appreciate the power of Spore's engine, just because it's a sandbox game.
*Sigh*
Well, each to their own.

Well, sure NFS were too much bling bling, but at least most of them ran a hell of a lot better than this.

Eh?
I'll have to disagree there. MILKMAN/PROCYON releases ARE final. Same contents as my legally owned DVD.
Whether ATARI/EDEN will release a patch in time with the UK/US releases is another thing.

Having tried the game now, I can't really complain about the boring single player experience any more than I would have complained about Battlefield 1942 a couple years ago. They clearly just didn't make any real effort in that area, preferring to focus entirely on the online racing. Although, games like Forza and GTR 2 don't exactly have the sort of campaign that NFS does either, and I never found them boring as exclusively single player games.

I might have bought the game despite my feelings about online play just to give it a go, but the physics killed that idea. The weightless feeling of every car is what ruined it for me the most. You catch air on the slightest gradient even at speeds as low as 60MPH; taking a curve that happens to be on an incline is ridiculous. Motorcycles seem like a tacked-on afterthought too, another disappointment there as the idea of taking a MV Agusta out for a ride appeals to me more than practically any of the cars in the game.
P.S. -- And yes, I think Spore is quite possibly the least interesting game announced for 2007.

Think you are funny? I don't think so. The game kicks ass. Need some patching, but other than that with my G25, this game is really fun to play. Don't care too much for online racing at this stage.

Although I'll still disagree with you on Spore, all your points on TDU are quite valid and I'm glad to see someone putting some effort into expressing their critical opinion and not just going "Bah, blah, bah! Dis iz boring! I'll go play my PES6! This game sucks! Fuck this game! Fuck, fuck!"
This game did require more work, like most games lately, but companies seem to be in a rush for some reason. Is that reason a good excuse for sequels or more sales during certain months, I don't know. But besides the disappointment, I'm still having lots of fun playing on it online. I can only pray that decent modding will be able to improve the physics, which is my only complaint on this game so far, other than the supposedly-to-be-fixed-in-first-patch bugs.
