I dont pay for most games because most games arent worth it (plus i have very little money) but when a good game comes along i want to pay for it, although i will try the Iso-version first before buying. |
of course scene releases are my demo, and I don't have a job atm so I can't buy the game. Theres a few games I have downloaded that I plan on buying once I have funds comming in. Especially C&C 3, which is gunna be hard cause I promised to never buy another EA game after the bullshit their tech support pulled with me.

Piracy
When asked about solutions to combat piracy, they didn't have much to say in terms of new technology. While there isn't a sound technical solution yet to eliminate piracy completely, id will continue to look at the technology available for new solutions. Marty noted that id Software's online CD key authorization system, that has been in use since the inception of QuakeIII, has been a very effective method of stopping piracy. "Despite what people think about it being cracked and there being key generators that work, it hasn't." Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will also contain several other layers of security that will be very beneficial to cut down on piracy. You will have to be online and logged into a system that will track your stats while playing online.

At least their not going nuts trying to find a way to cut it down. Though I hope they don't use the system BF2142 used, that was annoying.

My ass, Blizzard made it easy to pirate WoW legally. They released the full version of the game on File Planet and play on private payed servers and that would cause the game to not deactivate itself after so many hours or whatever.

| Well they are. Doom3 sold good, but they are still gready for more. I mean considering the fact that doom3 sucked badly thats not bad at all. They should be happy, but no, they want more. Kinda bitching for piracy and making lame games dont fit together very well.

Playing WoW on a private server isn't even remotely close to playing WoW on an official server for a start most (if not all) of the quests dont work, npcs are missing or incorrect, infact none of the "useful" content is in. Its like compairing apples to oranges.

Doom 3 was more a showcase for the engine than anything in my eyes. Gorgeous engine but used poorly. Quake 4 was alot better and I enjoyed that quite a bit.

If anything, Quake 4 showed how poorly that engine rendered outdoor areas - but on the other hand, how awesome it does indoor.

Dunno, Quake 4 looked bad indoors and outdoors, outdoors worst in fact [painted buildings], but the maps looked ugly aswell. Gameplay wasnt not found either. Seems like quake wars will be BF1942 game scifi mod redone in 2007/8.

I wouldn't compare Quake Wars to that pile of shit BF-series for two cents.

agreed
The doom 3 engine looked like shit unless you had it all maxed out.
btw, Did fear use it's own engine or did it use a modified one from someone else?

ditto, I ran it on high just fine on a 754 socket build with an x800GTO AGP. got some lag but not enough to ruin anything. Hell I think the first time I played it was on an AMD Xp 1700, radeon 9250 and 1 gig of memory, and beat it with not much lag.

Pfft yeah right, on a 5 y/o PC... | On most PCs when it was released. Besides it did not deserve the powerfull hardware, coz its not crysis with 2-16km view distance. Anyway nuff talk about fear'n stuff. I say the game will suck. Graphics wise its outdated, lowpoly, textures loose sharpness in close range, sound is realy bad, no SP, lame weapon models, gameplay from what Ive seen feels like a bf1942[boring imo], lame particle FX design.

eh, it'll suffice I think it's a smart choice to not use the most updated GFX cause it'll be targeting older systems as well so that more people will be able to play it. Dun need bad ass Crysis gfx to have fun on a MMOFPS. But the option of it would be nice though

Man, FEAR ran on high on a fucking 9800Pro! That was one of the most optimized engines out there.
Bad graphics? And boring gameplay? QW looks amazing, and from gameplay videos I've seen, it plays even better.
You lost all respect from me. Crawl beneath that rock you have been living under for all those years. And go play SoF2, I'm sure that's optimized for your PC.
And parallax, it should be [ b ] not < b >

Well, nvm the reason, just fix it. And use some [ size ] and [ color = 28 ]... That helps to emphasize the message.
