Bleh im in such a boring state atm.

I've been very active in WoW the latest year or so but lately i'm just too bored with it. So I've been playing some other games meanwhile but I just cant find one that keeps me interested.

I'm really looking forward to Silent Hunter IV but that's not out until next week or so.

So I started downloading some random games hoping that it would be just the game i was looking for to pass the time, so far I've been playing these games:

Company of Heroes - Meh, too unrealistic for my taste
Darkstar One - Too generic and the story and voiceactors makes me vomit
Rainbow Six: Vegas (xbox360) - Decent fun but if you've killed one terrorist, you've killed em all
Silent Hunter III (GWX) - Already spent countless hundreds of hours and I dont want to spoil my appetite for submerged warfare
Supreme Commander - Pretty nice game but sadly the story doesnt keep me interested at all
Medieval: TW2 - Pretty burned out on this series sadly, havent been much improvements since the original Medieval

Right now im in a situation where I find a game that seems promising, scourge my sites for it, download it, install it, play one mission/level, sigh, quit it.

So give me some examples on games that i should play Smile

Gaming - Intel Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHZ | Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB | SB X-Fi | PC6400 8GB | 300GB Velociraptor
HTPC - Antec Fusion Remote | AMD Athlon 7850 X2 | PC6400 2GB | 74GB Raptor
Server - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ | Radeon HD 3450 | SB X-Fi | PC5300 2GB | 4TB+ total space

btw, got any sort of specific genre your after?

RTS - Warhammer 40K series is superawsome, COH was good but im tired of WWII, CnC3 demo I've played over and over

RPG - Sacred is a good time killer with the expansion, Marvel Ultimate Alliance was amusing but not very optimized...looks gorgeous none the less, Vampire Bloodlines, Dungeon Siege II was LONG and only good played with other people very mindless at that, SpellForce 2 (RTS/RPG), Fable the lost chapters was excellent

everything else, Infernal is a good time killers, NHL 2007 was fun, Freedom Force games are great. Dreamfall 2, Deus Ex (invisible war I hated) flatout 2 was alot of fun online, warhammer mark of chaos was amusing.

uuummmm

Liquidator was a very weird game but worth the play. Was like a modern age of Hexen. the enemies were unique

Action and such - Dreamfall 2,

I'm not 100% sure what im after.

I really enjoyed the Warhammer 40k games, but wasnt there a fantasy-addon released? I mean the original was sci-fi but somewhere in the back on my head I think i've seen ads for the whole orc/dwarf-deal. Am i wrong? That might be worth checking out in that case.

I never tried Sacred nor Freedom Force so I think I will give one of those a spin to begin with. Thanks Smile

that will keep you glued to your computer, at least imo anyway.

Man, playing WoW makes you lose touch with the games that are released Surprised

Just realised Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is a complete game, not just an expansion. Gonna give this a try for sure Smile

Don't bother it's shit.

Check out sacred, i'm playing that at the moment. I just recently played through Max Payne 2 again, it still looks fantastic and it was a blast!

Also try Alien Shooter: Vengence and Starscape. Both fun oldschool games that can eat alot of time.

Oh why didn't i read your replies Sad

Warhammer: MoC was indeed crap. A sad attempt at a Warhammer: Total War or something. With subpar.. everything.

Never tried Sacred, it looks kinda.. crappy. Never was a big Diablo fan so I'm kinda hesitating.

What's the deal with Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade? Is that a 3.5gb expansion or the original plus new content?

Never played Winter Assault but loved the original, wouldn't mind giving it another go.

But I can only find Dark Crusade on one of my faster sites and I really cant be arsed to look up or request the old original.

Dark crusade is anotehr expansion with a total new cool way on the campaign, it's also stand alone, but you'll only have access to the two new factions, I think you can play all of them in the campaign only but not in skirmish or anything, I can't remember.

If you dont' like Hack & Slashes and DEF didnt like DII then don't bother with sacred.

well...i have the fav games that allways on the hd like css and lately i have found the guns only option in lock on modern air combat and mini games like luxor are allways welcome, till good new release is coming.

if i look into the past and from short memory, i can recomand of:
max payne 1+2 and half life 2 (specialy episode 2) ,condemned crime origin ,The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay also bet on soldier was nice but...no cheats and no trainer and its hard later in the game. and x3 reunion is great game and dreamfall longest journey and mafia from 2003 is one of the best games i played and farcry is good too...too big abit so easy to get lost , but realistic and fun. and...call of duty 1+2 (one was better) and call of juarez was cool game and Dark Messiah and fear is not bad also..nice gun fights and nice graphic...i guess there are few more, but as i said -in short memory-thats what came up;)

hope you will find one of this enjoyable.

u should try buying ur games.

there was a great thread sometime ago about ppl talking about how they had an endless amount of games but only played them for 1 hour each and then never touched them again.. all of which were of course downloaded.
the theory is that since they're so easily accessible and of course free then there's just no satisfaction from playing them since u did nothing to earn the game or whatever unless it was something truly marvelous(Oblivion, RE4 etc.).

if no games interest you at all then perhaps you've also fallen victim to this.

That's a very naive way of looking at it. The climate for games has changed considerably due to the increase of piracy, but that has no bearing whatsoever on whether you enjoy a game or not. The only impact it has is in raising the standards quota for games you are willing to buy.

But if you buy a game you are putting down money and that money generally speaking doesn't go down unless you want what your buying - hence the increased possibility that you'll give the game more attention and play it over others. But I've bought several prominent games and not played them much, if at all. The act of purchasing does not have the significance you are suggesting.

it was just a theory(not mine btw) and the most logical one at that seeing from the other thread i mentioned(can't find it though) that people are much more willing to complete the games they've bought instead of the ones they download.

i had to buy resident evil 4 and zelda:TP for GC and both have been completed.. i leeched games like okami, rogue galaxy, shadowhearts 2, oblivion, COD 2, company of heroes, prince of persia: TT etc. and played for 2-3 hours and never returned to them(although i managed to finish games like god of war, MGS3... but those games fall into the marvelous category i mentioned).

even judging from the topic creator he played wow for a year.. addiction aside it's a game that he paid for on a monthly basis whilst everything else he has tried since then failed to catch his interest... is it a coincidence that the games were all leeched?

hey if u can come up with something more logical feel free to share.
