Yep, a large majority of the players are. Most of the others are those people who have no social life. There is a tiny percentage who actually play in moderation, just for fun, maybe about 5%.
Then again a large amount of the demographic that sony are aiming for fall into the first two categories, so I expect this will have a certain amount of success.
Of course this all depends on people actually buying PS3's, and at the moment they arn't selling particularly well.

just heard that Motostorm in Uk to get offline Multiplyer you gotta pay for it via a download update, lol - nice 1 Sony - seems free content on Sony's platform won't be so much as they gotta recoup their free service somehow, they will be charging for patches soon!

lol, true but at least you can use TILT in the games, Home you cannot, so no cross game invites, ect, ect, as its not running as a service in the background whilst games are playing - unlike LIVE
