Just disable sound in device manager.
reboot.
test game and see if problem still exists.

I'm not sure, I am running at 1600x1200 4x AA all details high. However, I turned all the settings down and same issue occurs. I really think the problems i am having are related to my crappy onboard sound. |

I tried this with my wheel and pedals, it's more fun than playing with a joypad to be honest and easier actually (in comparison to NFS etc). Still it's some way away from realistic or more importantly satisfying control.
Kind of boring in singleplayer as well... I liked NFS as it had good cop chases that got intense at times (plus the excellent radio chatter got you going) but it's kind of lame imitation in TDU.
Guess Multiplayer is where it's at.

Guys what is the version of the retail? From what I read most say MC1.45A and others say MC1.45A_MC1.2.
But what is the MC1.2 then? Maybe it's a file version?

some of the classic muscles sound ok, everything else sounds like hairdryer especialy cars with turbo u can barely hear it
still think best engine sounds are in MW especialy when that turbo kicks in, whoever think otherwise probably deaf

Holy god, Vista performance is terrible with this one.
I'm talking sub 5 frames per second at times vs 40+ under XP.
That's what you get from beta drivers though, so I won't blame vista.

And ATARI just keeps on bringing nice surprises to us. Once I got my newly bought game up and running and tried to connect to the servers, I got a Failed To Connect error message, and just as I browse through the forums I see that everyone's reporting the same thing.
Servers Offline? For hours? Days after the official release? No official announcement whatsoever?
Well done. Well done ATARI.

use a analog/wheel controller...this is not your arcadey need for speed...
