Ok ive installed the game but when it detects the settings it says Video Hardware is Unrecognized?? I have the very latest drivers for my card too. The game will load to the main screen but when i go to load a new game it just hangs there and does nothing? I can ctr alt delete out and task manager says its not responding.

please help guys i really want to try this on my new systems, worked fine on my old 6800 Ultra.

There is an unofficial patch out, you could try that. But I wouldn't get my hopes up, because it loads as a mod, no changes to the game executable. Another idea is to install a codec pack (k-lite is my choice). From what I got from your post, maybe it hangs when trying to play the intro movie ? Try loading a save game.

Yet another idea is to set graphics and sound settings to modest settings, tweaking the ini file(especially disabling joystick support), or turning off sound acceleration. Also, some prayers to your god of choice wouldn't hurt either (depends on the god though)

Yeah will try the codecs, since its a new install of windows i will install that k-lite, also on the main game window where you change your settings and pick new game ect ect there is no music at all.

k-lite installs a bunch of crap you really don't need or use. Use the Combined Community Codec Pack

I agree with the legend that is Spykez - K-Lite Codec Pack is bloated...

I use the Defiler Pack - seems to work perfectly...

you might at some point downloaded/installed codec's without knowing it, like installing a program that had codecs already.
