I have to say I agree. I watched the pilot and I thought it was great, however the series leaves me annoyed at the end of every episode.

I just hate the fact that all of these bombs have gone off and everything is still rosey in this small town and they are having parties and there is a whole romance aspect to it. Its just not what I want.

I guess its like LOST for me, I was more interested in what the island was, but all it gives you is shite about the people. I really don't care about them.

Rosey? First of all this is a small-sized town, but nothing is ROSEY about the situation. Have we seen the same show? And the romance aspect is MINIMAL at best, again, have we seen the same show?

If you are more interested in direct terrorism you can go watch 24. Jericho has a more subtle and clever approach to the situation viewed through the eyes of the people from a small town. Little by little they discover what the situation really is.

What do you expect like? People going crazy for two months? Not saying that I like the romance aspects of the show, but they are bound to be there and they aren't near big enough to ruin it.

Just horrible, it's like this idyllic neo-christian little overdramatized (and horribly sound-produced) joke, with characters that are about as deep as the small puddles of water after a 5 minute spring rain (I mean, just look at the two feign cops, they use such horrible stereotypes of criminals that whoever thinks they're real need to do strychnine). And the horrid stupid things like blowing the cave opening up to prevent the rain from trickling down (no, no cracks at all), while other people can just tape pieces of plastic on their houses to remain perfectly safe.

This stupidly dadaistically dramatized scenes of the black man in the cellar, who is OH SO MYSTERIOUS, and the shallow-cunt whatever acting of the boy who lost his family. And the town that start fighting with the believability of a rag-tag bunch of "hey guy!" pulled from the street of a random town to perform in a production like this.

The level of suspension of disbelief (or just plain lack of any grasp of social understanding) you'd have to go through would be so rigorous, you're just better off making up your own story.

Why the hell Gene Hackman stars in this is an evidence of a dwindling career, or a need for more pocket-change for a days stroll in N.Y.C.

You should be ashamed of yourselves for liking this produced utter tripe. Seriously. Whoever came up with this series should be put up against a wall, and shot. Along with whoever casted the theater rejects who star in it.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Gene Hackman?!?! Wha...!??!!? I have watched all episodes of Jericho, and I have checked imdb and other sites... where the FUCK did you dream up Hackman in this series?

I doubt you have even seen this, so why don't you just drop it at "I don't like the show" instead?

No man, it's just as simple as that. If you think this is a good series, your taste is in the crapper.

No, I haven't. I stopped watching it at episode 6.

Mayor - Possibly the only solid character, still pretty simplistic, suffers from "the flu" as he calls it, doesn't agree with the life his son chose, which is to be mayor of Jericho, which his father was before him. (I used to think he was played by Gene Hackman, but he's just similar, I watched three seasons of Deadwood thinking he was Gene Hackman, lol).

Mayor's son - Classic american McGyver stereotype, self-pity, realizes he wasn't accepted by his father, but has lots and lots of skills, played by one of the worst actors since the cast of Beverly Hills 90210. Is about as talented as acting a role as your shoes are att doing Dustin Hoffman-impersonations.

Mayor's son #2 - Another actor that came out of someone's crapper. He's like his father wants him to be, christian smiley glad-hands with a beard. Plays stiff and emotionless and has about 2 facial expressions.

Mayor's son's girlfriend to be - no depth, just a southern smile and prance around looking cute (but has a sort of self-pity).

Bimbo with the two stereotype criminals: Yes, they have tattoo's on their necks and play villains in the stereotype Chaplin-style. Completely socially inept, about as smart as your barnyard door, and almost make pig-noises because that's probably how well they were directed. "OK! In this scene, make piglike noises and frown a lot... that's what criminals do". As for the bimbo... jeez man, I'd say there didn't exist people who were as shallow as here, but then you'd just have to look at Jessica Simpson.

The boy with the dead-parents tape: Another stereotype! "Hi, I'm the social outcast, pity me", coul've come out of the comedy series "Everybody hates Chris", being Chris's best friend. Oh, I forgot - this isn't a comedy series where stereotypes are used to make comedies... and then a predictable "Cool girl pities-the-dork" drama, in a cheesy-80's-flick layout. I mean, could it get any worse? Oh, this guy helps the retarded store-owner-woman by managing to move the groceries off of the train to her shop. Because he's so nice...

The negro in the cellar, plays the mysteryman with all the skills you could imagine, yes folks! This is McGyver stereotype #2, though he's black. Has a wife who is the stereotype subservient type. And it's obvious that one of the children needs to break his rules to create some drama.

Whoever made this series has to be an orthodox Christian who haven't ever stepped out the door and interacted with people, or better yet... tried to understand them from whereafter the nose extends. The characters are about as hollow and transparent that they might just be from a slapstick comedy show (Married with children comes to mind).

They should just call it "Overture of horrible american stereotypification"

No, not really. A big portion of the city place themselves in bomb-shelters, and go through all the effort you could imagine to lock themselves down. Then we have the rest of the village that has to go down into a cave, and the only reason given that they have to blow the cave entrance is because the rain somehow won't find it's way down there.

Then the stereotype criminals and the bimbo-girl, and the deaf girl, well, they just go to a regular cellar to protect themselves, and the guy who ran in the rain hasn't had enough exposure to... w/e.

As for the stereotype nerd and his stereotype cool-girl-friend, they can just tape plastic stuff to protect themselves, whereas the rest of the villages are either huddled in their bomb-shelter cellars or own cellars.

FAIL, is what I can summarize this as.

Well you had... hmmm about one right? The only thing close to right would be stereotype criminals and yet you werent to right in rest you said about them

Bomb shelter would be safest, if you cant get to a bombshelter other things are safer then standing in the rain. Blowing up the cave entrance helps alot compared to not blowing it up and letting the rain pour in. And a cellar is also safer then no cellar, and no one said how poluted the rain was so why should the guy in the rain die? Maybe wasnt poluted at all.
They had no cellar to hide in, they tried to shut all little airsprings to the outside, the more they shut the safer they are but yet not as safe as a bombshelter though. So you trying to say something about they hiding from the rain?

FAIL, is what I can summarize you as. No more stereotypes here then anything else or more flaws of other kind.

Jericho was really boring in the beginning with all the romance shit. If I wanted these drama scenes I would have been watching soap operas instead. It only got better near the end.
