words getting around now that a bug was found in two previous versions of the msdash kernel that allowed full acess to the hypervisor and all hardware. Its now been posted on xbox scene's main page. So what does this mean for the modding community. A while ago it was shown how to downgraqde the kernel. Is homebrew on the 360 now a reality?? discuss

its interesting indeed , but unfortunately its all ready been patched. Maybe if you still have one those kernal versions installed some apps could use this exploit. Who knows , time will tell.

well they blew an efuse correcting the problem with the last update bu it is feasible that this kernel flaw can be used to design mod chip and having a kernel that allows someone to fully compromise the system means its much easier to find other points of entry

I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Almost everyone who wants to play backups uses the firmware hack already and it seems that MS tolerates it but if there will be hacks/chips that can run unsigned code MS might do something about it.

MS doesn't tolerate it, they are releasing new drives to counter the firmware hack. They can't stop it through dashboard updates as it seems.
This is interesting, if we get homebrew running its great and if it allows XBMC alike applications I am all in..
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!
