My two cents on the demo -

The Past -

The reason I loved Command and Conquer as much as I did was because the unique mythos it was based around. The story, the full motion video cutscenes and voice overs, the characters, the unique units ( Orca anyone? ) - all of this came together to make a very convincing and very unique universe.

Sure the gameplay was fairly average, but the story in my opinion made it all worthwhile.

Anyone remember the Red Alert cutscenes (with Stalin and his bitch?) If that didn't make you feel like a badass, I don't know what will Very Happy

The Present -

First off, I'm glad to see the classic units return. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
The FMV's are back, this time with an awesome cast (and a few from BSG, my favorite series). The voiceovers are professional and the mission briefs are well done. All of this on a beautiful and utterly optimized engine. A+ for Presentation / Story / Graphics

Gameplay wise - well, it feels alot more frantic and faster paced than before, I can't say thats a good thing. Sure it didn't really add anything new in terms of gameplay, but too much new can be a bad thing. It retains the classic C&C feel pretty much....just wish the combat and buildtimes were toned down a bit. B- for Gameplay.

I'm hoping the campaign is long, and from what I've seen in the demo it will give you a choice between which mission to do (ala classic C&C tac map).

I can't believe what I'm about to say - EA may have done something halfway right for once in there life. For once all that corporate backing and big budget really went towards something (beautiful engine and professional, albeit B grade actors).

Anxiously awaiting full release Very Happy

Agree, fantastic game. Original units, original ideas. Like the nod turret hubs and its good to see the old airfield design back.
Epsilon, that is pure BS
I cant even kill a Hard enemy with 3 mammoth tanks, barely a Medium, no matter if i get them after 15min. I seriously dont know if you are just exaggerating to seem cool, but in MY demo, the computer is friggen hard! Turrets and units everywhere. A mammoth tank cant take an infinite ammount of punishment. Just 3 without anything else wont due.
The AI just has too much stuff up its sleeve.

I think it depends on the computer, i know it's weird but i was playing easy at home and the computer played good, well atleast compared to how it played on my laptop.

I played it at my laptop and i saw that on my computer it didn't care about tiberium, infact it couldn't attack me until it used vehicles since it kept sending units into the tiberium.

It never did that at home Confused

The following command line parameters are supported by Command
& Conquer 3:

-noaudio (Launches the game without any audio)
-xres (Forces the game to a specific horizontal resolution)
-yres (Forces the game to a specific vertical resolution

Well, I played the demo last night and I have to say it's a lot like Generals. The engine seems to be the same as Generals and BFMEII. The camera is way to close and needs to be able to zoom out like SupCom. SupCom has spoiled me big time. This game just felt old. That isn't such a bad thing for nostalgic reasons. Don't get me wrong I thought the graphics were great, but, great as in Generals great, not Company of Heroes great. The heat effects and explosions were nicely done. The missiles are great looking and I think are done better than SupCom. It just didn't give me enough new and revolutionary gameplay. SupCom is a game that, to me, will never get old. This already seems old. I still play Generals today, so C&C3 will be a game I will enjoy, especially with the new alien race. The game played really well on my pc and didn't show me any chop. Hopefully EA will break the mold on C&C4 and play outside the box they are stuck in.

It's now official as far as I am concerned.......Supreme Commander RTS GOTY 2007!

Well the engine is still the SAGE engine which both Generals and the BFME series used... Also this is a fast paced RTS which is on a completely different scale and much faster then Supreme Commander. Really two different games imo.

How the heck does this game have "fresh" and "unique" gameplay and units???

I played the game now and i like the units and the cut scenes had that b-movie feeling to them as they should.

The thing that conserns me most is that its to fast paced. I wouldent mind that it would take like 2 min + for the elit units to be built.

I like the feeling of "oh shit" when you see the elit units, i dont like to see them massed Sad

Alos build times on buildings could be longer for most things. Dont think they will change this but i hope Smile

Btw wasnt it supposted to be a NOD mission ? Sad I only played Tut and one GDI mission...

Trust me this will be a flop empire earth 2 has more frames of animation
and that's what makes the gameplay weak as you just dont care what happens to your
badly animated units.
