Didn't use Steam for this since I prefer to keep it HL/HL2 related and instead bought the downloadable version from the Bioware store, seems like a good game and it wasn't that expensive for a special edition.

Downloaded in about a hour despite the website being rather slow but as expected everything is packed in encrypted rar files wich are password protected, guess it will be easier to wait for the march 2nd but atleast I have something to do untill then by guessing what the correct password is. (Yes I know it's virtually impossible )

Seems like a rather small game though if you exclude the movies but from the various reviews it does have around 15 - 20 hours of gametime.
(652MB core data files, 1,13GB sound files and 4.22GB movie files)

Ah well not that long untill it's released and there are quite a few other titles to complete untill then.

EDIT: Assuming the steam version uses GCF files it should be possible to use GCFScape to view and extract non-encrypted data, but since it's a preload most of the core files are probably encrypted. Smile

I suppose that if you used a US proxy and set the Bioware/Store account's location to USA you could fool the program though it's probably just the account information that is being used as I recieved a message after the preloading phase was complete and according to it I will recieve a email when the product can be activated so it seems to be based on the account information more than a temporary US proxy.
(Could always do both though, should probably do that anyway to be 100% sure)
