OK, I've read the rules/FAQs and searched the forums but I can't find anything that tells me how or if I'm even allowed to upload NFO files not currently in the database. I read one post that suggested no one is allowed to upload NFO files themselves, and that for a release to appear in the databse it must appear in the proper channels on IRC. Is this the case? Reason I'm asking is because sometimes I look for NFO files here but they haven't been uploaded. There also seems to be a lack of HR NFOs here and I was hoping to fix that. Thanks in advance for any help.

if theres an nfo then it'll get here at some point. If the section for the nfo doesn't exist then the section is more than likley being considered. Such as HD-DVD's, there isnt enough to make it worth having it's own section. If you think there should be a section I'd post up the ideas in the site feedback section, you'll be answered quicker there than in here. And I personally will thank you for reading and ASKING first, more than I can say for alot of the new guys so with that, I welcome you to the board.

Just to add to what SpykeZ already said. There are two situations which you could be talking about.. Scene NFO's that have no made it into our database, or Non-Scene NFO's that no one cares about (lol). If by "sometimes I look for NFO files here but they haven't been uploaded" you mean real scene release NFO's then we do have a shortage of updaters which is being looked into right now, if you want to apply then PM Rinze and he can set that up.. If however you mean NFO's for P2P releases or other non-scene releases, we don't store them in our database!

Chances are it won't. There are hundreds of releases that never make it here, in particulary the apps section, but also a lot in the movie section.
I'm not sure how the nfos are added here on nforce, if it's automatic or if it it's manual monkey slave labour? |

Manual monkey slave labour.. although its not a hard process, we simply lack people who have access to the NFO's and have the time to add them in. Not to mention there is a required amount of trust when it comes to being an updater, thus the need for "trials"..
