Hated it for the first 30 minutes, then started to have fun just climbing and looking for orbs ... Anyway finished the first island and still enjoying the mindless fun ....
It's great to play a GTA type game and hardly ever use a vechicle

Oh cool! Of course! For some reason I was under the impression each retail copy of Crackdown had a serial number or something that had to be entered into XBL. Obviously if that was the case it would require a retail copy.

I would assume its as simple as an "URL" or link to marketplace content inside the Crackdown menus that you cant find anywhere else. In addition the H3 beta can check who the "launcher" is and if it isnt the crackdown .xbx it wont run when executed.
When the system is as secure and closed as it is you can do a lot with simple things.
Oh and the rumored quiet disc operation would come handy here. Instead of having the Crackdown disc spin at full speed for 150 hours of H3 beta fun, it can spin down or run quietly. (H3 beta will be on the HDD, the disc is just a shortcut to it).

The Halo3 beta executable might have a reset function when the tray is opened, like dvd based 360 games and original xbox1 games. If it doesnt, then you could open the tray to stop the disc.

I don't play just for achivements, but they are there for a reason. Still i think it will be hard to take all the achivements in crackdown since its a pretty big game.

By the way, I have the retail, and i'm almost certain that you'll be able to play the Halo 3 beta with the warez copy. Bastards!

they prolly won't charge for it, crackdown has 900 points gs, to fill out the remaining 100gs it has to be in dlc, and that dlc HAS to be free, Microsoft made that clear.
So if this dlc is part of the remaining 100gs, its 1000% free.
