My second 360 just died on me, just while I was in the middle of killing the final boss on Lost Planet!

No matter what mistakes sony have made with the marketing of the PS3, if they've brought out a console that lasts longer then a few months they've already got one up on microsoft.

Now I have to haul the heavy piece of shit to the other side of the city on foot, not looking forward to that. Probably get robbed by some chav on the way. Razz

Now I know that I shouldn't buy a 360 from out of Israel. If it will "die" I won't be able to replace it :/

Say thanks that it's only in the other side of the city. I know a lot of people that need to send their products out of the country if they want them to get fixed.

thats why i hate consoles , this will never happen on a PC , anyway after my fifth xbox360 death i gave nr. six to a friend that moded the hell out of it with a nice water cooling and with some mod chip Very Happy and from this day my console never died on me

a tip : get a new cooling system for your xbox360 becoz this is allways the nr1 problem with this crapy designed console

Read some weird tip about people 'fixing' their xboxes by wrapping them in towels. Don't put much faith in it myself but then again the thing is already dead right? Just don't burn your house down. Very Happy

Most people never had any problems with it. It is the few people you hear about screaming on the forums Razz

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards

i personaly know 5 or 6 ppl who had problems after they flashed or updated after flash, not a single hw failure

Thats what I thought. I'm not a whiner, but when I have to replace the console more then once it begins to take the piss.

Here is an experts take on why the 360s are having issues.

Cheap PCBs are to blame, they are warping under the excessive heat generated from the CPU. He recomends a cooling mod before your system breaks.

But i have had mine almost a year, and had zero issues. (Knocks on wood)

To be fair, OP, I just think you are unlucky. Since xbox is made of computer hardware, it's infinitly more likely to be stablelerler than other consoles. However, I liek ps3 more. Going to get a giant plasma TV and ps3, as soon as there's games for download!

Yes, that makes no sense, I know.
