did you plant the dynamite near the indicated building/shack?

alright guys i figured i'd chime in with the method that works for me since i tried damn near everything i've seen here and on other forums and nothing has worked
- mounted the maxi image in the latest version of alcohol
- started YASU
- started CPU Burn-in for 1 min
- started game (ufo.exe) with procyon loader (the one that they included for some of their older clone releases)
this has worked twice for me so far even though nothing else has produced any results

You don't have to use explosives to destroy stuff. Just shooting at the object will work. Of course, if you use a weak weapon, it will take many shots. One shot with the warp weapon is enough.
Another hint: when you find a cage with worms inside, there is a door that you can bust open, by shooting or exploding. Before I knew that it took me a long time to kill the worms because I could hear them but not see.
I'm playing in the hard setting for both tatical and strategic. The game is really hard until you get the warp and mind control weapons. After that, it gets very easy. I usually finish a mission without a scratch.

UFO Afterlight - HATRED
Ufo Afterlight (C) Altar Games
20/02/2007 :.. Rel.date . protection ..: Securom 7.30.0014
1 DVD :... disc(s) . genre .......: Strategy
As its prequels, UFO: Afterlight is a mixture of squad
based tactical action and global strategy with the gamer
controlling the actions of elite ground troops, and the
running and expansion of the home base while collecting
resources.
Although the basic game specifications will remain
similar to those of UFO: Aftershock, there are many new
additions and improvements in both strategic and tactical
elements of the game. As Mars is the planet on which all
the action will take place, we’ll have the opportunity to
meet a number of new enemies, research new technologies,
manufacture and use new advanced weapons, and even change
the face of the planet in order to make it habitable to
humans. All these plus a new graphical look, focus on RPG,
smart scripting and a new insight on the series’ storyline
will make the game a unique challenge to create a new home
for mankind.
1. Unpack.
2. Install.
3. Copy Crack.
4. Enjoy!

if your buildings are full with machines, research dome at the lab, then you can build a new exterior dome and you can place the new things in there

You can't build anything because you need resources (build mines, etc....).
