Yeah, the board has 2 x16 PCIe slots, so you should be fine with the mobo. What you should worry about is what CPU you have. Basically, one 8800GTX can't really work well unless you have the top-tier C2D (E6600 and up). If you don't have that, I seen no logical reason why you should have two of them in a SLI with a crappy bottlenecking CPU.

thank you LeoNatan, always gratefully for your answer.
here it is my specs:
p5n32sli deluxe
pentium4 - 3400 ghz
1 gb kingston (gonna buy another 1 gb of ram)
1000 w enermax
and so we're back at my question:
is it enough to support 2 8800 or is it useless and only 1 i have to buy?
many thanks in advice, Leo...

Yeah, I think you shoul keep the money of another 8800GTX for now and invest them into a new CPU. I'd get a E6600 and more memory, it should come at the same price as that second 8800 you're not getting...
New motherboard is not needed as that one supports C2D afaik, so that's great.
With that new setup, you should see all-around improvements that you might not have got with 2 8800s, because of the bottlenecking CPU.

P5N-32 SLI Delux is Socket 775, so it should be compatible with Core 2 Duo.

If you were to try and SLi 2 GTX's with your current CPU you'd get lower minimum framerates then with a single card. Two of those things NEED a very fast CPU to keep up and it scales incredibly well with faster processors.

Yeah, two 8800GTX in SLI need QX6800, which is insanely priced right now.

okie dokie at all, sirs....
first of all thank you all for yours suggestions.
then:
i'm gonna checking right now on the asus'site to read about compatibility between my mobo and a new processor.
eventually, i'm gonna buy a new processor (e6600 or QX6800?) and checking if it fits well on my mobo.
then, i would like to buy 1 another gb of ram and, if i can, 2 8800.
the fact is:
i got a total amount of 1850 € to spend.
and i would like to buy the best.
and here we come to another point:
should i wait for 8950 (gxt, of course!)??

i'm updating my previous post:
my mobo:
p5n32 sli deluxe
CPU:Socket775 for Intel® Pentium Processor Extreme Edition / Pentium D / Pentium 4 / Celeron CPU Compatible with Intel® 05B/05A and 04B/04A processors Intel® EM64T/ EIST*/Hyper-Threading Technology
Chipset: NVIDIA® nForce4 SLI Intel® Edition NVIDIA® nForce4 SLI
Front Side Bus: 1066 / 800 / 533MHz
the cpu i'd like to buy:
CORE 2 DUO E6600 2.4Ghz 1066 4MB
the vga card:
8950 gxt (1 or 2)
the questions:
do those components fit on my mobo?
do i have any kind of bottleneck?

Dear god, QX6800 and two 8950 in SLI... Care to send me some cash?
Well, the only thing I have no clue here is if the motherboard supports Core 2... Socket 775 motherboards are generally supportive with maybe a BIOS flash. Maybe it can support Core 2 Duo but not Quad.
About the bottleneck, anyway you look at it, the motherboard is the bottleneck with the new CPU and Video cards... Look into eVGA 680i or Asus 650i, 680i being the prefered choice.

They don't state Intel Core 2 support so, I'd guess it doesn't support it.
Flashing the BIOS is when you update the software (firmware) in the BIOS chip. Because it's EEPROM memory (flash), you have to erase it and write the new software all over.

From that page, I'd say yer outta luck on yer mobo doing the core2 thing, even with a bios flash. It's not a huge deal though, I bought my mobo for 130(USD). Granted it's a budget board but I just don't believe in buying a high-priced board just to squeeze a few extra mhz oc or a 1-2fps difference. Had to upgrade the cooling on the nb and sb a bit but that's part of the fun of upgrading, for me anyways.
And as for only upgrading the video card? I'd say you'd be having a HUGE bottleneck and your vid card(s) would be not much better than having a 7900gt or something. I actually had a bottleneck at the cpu with an x2 4600+ chip(runs circles around p4). Upgraded to the core2 and my 3dmark06 went up to past 9000 from about 7500, on the same video card. And that benchmark is 90% gpu, so on games that actually are cpu intensive, it's even more important.
So yeah, even one vid card would be severally limited on the setup you got now. Trust me you will be happy with the core2duo+ a 680i/650i mobo and even just one super fast video card. Just upgrading the video card(s) would be like putting awesome speakers on a shitty low power radio, a waste.

finally, let's go to a conclusion:
i should change my mobo
i should change my cpu
i should buy 2 8950 gtx
i should buy 1 1000w ali
i should buy 1 additional gb of ram
1850 € (about 2000 u$d) gone in a while...
uhm....that does NOT sound good to me...
i mean: i bought a new mobo a new cpu 1 gb of ram a 7800gtx less then a year ago...and now?
wtf; i would just like to play at "stalker" or "crysis" with a decent framerate, that's all....
should i have to spend all my budget?

Oralcelik, you should actually be able to play STALKER fine with that rig... About Crysis, not so sure, but you will be able to play. But that's how it is with computers... A year ago I bought an A64 4000+ with GF 6600GT and it was an amazing rig for me. Now it sucks donkey balls... If you want always the best, it costs alot.

If your so determined on getting the full Crysis experience why don't you just upgrade near it's release date? There will be a much wider selection of DX10 cards available as well as CPU's/Mobo's/etc.

Whoever told you you must buy 2 video cards? To me it is just insane...almost a thousand dollars for something that will be replaced by something faster in 6 mos, Max. If you just want decent framerates as you say, one video card will be awesome in everything. Even Crysis. It just seems SLI is a e-penis thing, double the cost for maybe..Maybe..20% increase in gpu performance. That is, if there is no issues. Hell, the vista driver doesn't even support SLI as of yet. Anyways if you check out last generation SLI rigs, even my 2nd tier gfx card wipes the floor with a 7800 or 7900 SLI setup. But if you have that kind of money to burn, go for it.
But if you want "decent" framerates as you say keep half your money and just get one video card. I can't understand why I have been so happy with one video card all along(except of course when I won a 2nd voodoo2...ah the good ol days) and some people seem so unhappy unless they blow a fortune on two.

I was wanting to get two 880 GTX;s because I plan on purchasing a 30" Dell monitor when I buy my parts. Do you guys think 2 8800 GTX's wouldnt be needed for that?
Heres what I plan on getting from newegg:
ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
2 BFG Tech BFGR88768GTXOCE GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC HDCP Video Cards - Retail
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 - Retail
CORSAIR XMS2 DOMINATOR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4D - Retail
30" Dell Monitor 3007WFP
(case etc)
BTW, what power supply would you gusy recommend from newegg for that rig? And, do you think the mobo is alright?

That's the bad part about big displays, especially LCD's. You will have to constantly upgrade your graphics card to maintain a comfortable framerate at that monitors native res. As time goes by a 8800GTX will not be able to play games on a 30 inch.
Mobo? Your going almost all out with that rig why don't you just get a 680i board instead of the lower end one?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817341002
4 12v rails at 18A each. Plenty of power.
If your gonna get a single GTX get a smaller monitor, if your gonna get 2 then I suppose that 3007WFP would work great for a while to come. I don't see a single 8800GTX playing some of the next gen games comfortably at 2560x1920 or whatever that things res is.
