That mod was pretty shitty imo. It actually takes *more* screenspace in 1280x1024. The windows reset after being dragged sometimes, and it was generally fucking annoying to set up. I prefer the original interface on the left side of the screen by far (alt-up). I'll wait for the redone interface in the first/one of the early patches.

I tried the demo of the game and I thought it was neither interesting nor fun. The whole experience was so bland that I didn't even finish the demo. Is the single player campaign better in the full game? Also the graphics in the demo were crap and the performance was not that good. Are there any improvements since the demo (especially in the single player)? Otherwise I don't think I will get it. Seems to be mainly a multiplayer game anyway.

Actually my performance is much smoother in the final game than in either the beta or demo. And i can run in higher settings than before. (I bought the game btw)

umm.. played it for 4 hours, my impression is that is a relative fun game.
GFX is not that good. In C&C Generals or Empire at War you may found better graphics. The interesting part is that you can have, aparently, unlimited numbers of units.
I found gameplay dificult as hell... in the first mission took me nearly 200 units to destroy the Commander bot.
So, its a very tactic RTS...
My specs is an Athlon 3200, GF6800GT 256; 2 Gb Ram... very smooth, everything on max.
i would give it a 8/10.

Yep, I got unit maximum number reached on level 5, and we're not talking in the thousands here, merely in the hundreds. I don't know if it goes up slowly as you play through the campaign, or if you can set a specific number in skirmish, but I was kind of disappointed in that fact.
I started out on normal difficulty, and so far it has been shit easy to win over the computer. Luckily you can change the difficulty level during the campaign as far as I know. I hope when I switch to hard that things will improve. Yes, the units and the gameplay in general is very tactical, but at least when playing on normal difficulty the campaign feels really scripted. Nothing happens before you do a certain objective, and in the meantime the computer sends small waves of units to you at regular intervals - very predictable and easy to defeat.

sorry for the dual post, but small question,
Rig =
MSI K9N board
AMD 4600+ X2
256mb Video Card(water cooled)sparkle 6800xt PCI-E
1gig of ram,
I just ordered 2 gig of corsair 6400 ram (800mhz)
if i add that to my current 1gig of elixer ram but 677mhz i know it will downclock the ram, but with 3 gig will the game play smoothly with max settings, basically will the new ram make a big difference for me,

man..i've been playing the skirmish mode
i can easily win 'challenge ai' but that 'balanced ai'..it has nothing of balanced..!
before i have anything worthy he already has some UFO and large robots, and i played with 'challenge ai' on my side!

The first core is the rendering core from what i understand, and the second is used for ai, physics and stuff. So if you are staring at your commander at the start of the game with no AI (like in the first mission of the campaign), there would be no usage of the second core. But i suppose it wouldn't be that unlikely your cpu is recognized as a single core or something.

just finished the first UEF campaign. Last 2 missions were good fun, but as mentioned before that unit cap is a real pain.
Pretty easy game, as events don't trigger until you choose to complete the objectives like parralax said. Meaning you can just build and build and build until you are ready. Speaking of building what really pissed me off is that your turrets, SAMS and a whole load of other building types adds towards your unit cap. I don't think I could even finish building a well on one mission due to the cap. wtf is that about!?.
prolly gonna try the other campaigns (unless jade empire makes an appearance this week) hoping they get harder/better. Bring out C&C3 already though!.
