That is bullshit, the hud doesn't take up more than 30% of the screen, and pretty much everything on it is necessary.

ALSO A BIGGGGGG FACTOR ppl have failed to mention is dual screen support, u can have 2 maps on the go, one with hud and then on ur 2nd monitor a fulscreen one, this does take up twice the resources of ur gfx card though, but if youre rich and have 2 screens and sli i guess itll be quicker.

on 1280x1024 res, the HUD is 1/5th of the screen! Don't show us 640x480 res.

P.S. If you can't afford 19" monitor, then bye bye.

Didn't they say they were going to decrease the size of the HUD in a patch anyway?

Play poker... Laughing I wish! That Norwegian guy who wins millions by doing it is cool.

No man, I work part time at the moment. Either going to pick up a study or apply for a full time job somewhere, time will tell.

Btw you can rotate the HUD in SC by using ALT+UpArrow, it is marginally better at least - but I am still hoping for a minimalistic HUD in the future.

Well, actually the thumbnail version of the pics are realsize... When you click to see "full" version, they use some kind of sci-fi, csi-like tech to enlarge it. Laughing

huhu, yea look again, there is one just for ppl like you Wink

First thing you do is get 2-3 power generators then 2-3 mass extractors, or the other way around. Then you get your factory(s).

I think its a bit frustrating that it takes pretty short time to build things. After a while when you have many builders you can build even T2 buildings in less then a min. This means you need alot of consentrating on expanding you econmy all the time. Its good in one way, but it some times take to mutch focus. I havent even played the game MP yet, but in there a good economy will be the thing you win on, so its good to start playing like that from the start.

Just a comment about the marketing screenshot vs actual gameplay..... aside from the HUD, you can hold the space bar and rotate the screen with your mouse.

You can achieve the viewpoints shown in the marketing screens.

See people keep comparing it to CoH and DoW, Ination, but whereas CoH and DoW are comparable to each other, SC is more about epic battles and mass units where CoH/DoW is smaller squad based affairs. Personally, I prefer smaller, but this is still a good strategy game.

unfortunately, only for as long as you hold the spacebar. Then it just resets to the default overhead view.

If you track a unit then send them on a bit of a warpath.... the view comes in handy, but it's really only for cool factor and little else.

I'm having a lot of trouble warming up to this game. It's a little too robotic (no pun intended). Bases seem sterile and boring, and basically look like the same thing no matter which base you're looking at.

I'm thinking i'm gonna hit Act of War again. I like that game.

Fine then, even Warhammer MoC and Medieval 2 are better games than SC.

You can turn off that spacebar thing with command line, and you won't need to hold space during gameplay.

And i never even care about hud size because it is OK, and it takes 1/5th of screen. This is for those n00bs who can't switch to 1280x1024res.
