I'm really enjoying this game, Played it for about 6 hours yesterday with breaks of course, I've beat all the bosses in the first city and a couple in the second city, Haven't really drove any vehicles mostly on foot, I like collecting the green powerup icons on top of buildings, Thats pretty cool, Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, You can get across the city pretty fast just by jumping rooftops when you've powered yourself up abit that is, There's always action, Plenty to blow up and kill, For me this certainly one of the better games for the 360 for a while, Before this i didn't play it much, Found myself on the ps2 more, So for the next week i'll be on my 360 more, Well until i finish this game anyway.

What levels are your abilities at? Just so I can get an idea of how rapid the skill progression is compared to the demo. Considering you're probably about half way through the game I would expect they're pretty high.

When you've levelled the driving skill it's much faster to use a car to get around the city, especially the sports car as it just throws obstacles out the way. But i'm with you, jumping across the rooftops is definitely more fun.

I'll probably complete it at least twice, each time focusing on a different pair of abilities.

My running and jumping and weapons are at full now, I'm going to work on my strength and driving now.

btw i got stealth patch for this one
question is can i give the link to it like rapidshare or megaupload?

I hope the answer's "yes", I'd love to patch this before I burn it tonight. Does anyone know if site rules prohibit this?

edit: Crackdown.USA.Xbox360.StealthFIX-[FwM].rar been released on the usual places too.

What program do you use to apply the stealth patches? Every game I have gotten has said it was already stealth patched in the .nfo files so this is my first time at doing this.
Read the info for this one. Doesn't say what to use but does tell the steps.
Dunno what program they are referring to though.

What is the patch for..?
Did they just release this without doing the patch stuff to the game..? Or does it actually fix something. Will the release run without patching it first..? Just trying to get some info here.

Thanks.

A stealth patch just makes the DVD less detecatble by Microsoft that you are using a copy (supposedly). The rant release did not have the stealth patch on it. Game works without the stealth patch... just could find yourself banned from XBOX Live down the road.

from a few pages back:

"The whole stealth thing is for the 360 game discs its just some extra info from the security parts of the disc that gets included (it doesnt make it more or less playable) its just that SOME people think it MAY make it harder for M$ to prevent you using the backups it makes them closer to been identical to the original, the early 360 releases werent stealth but most new ones are. Stealth or not they still work its just a possibility that stealthed backups will be ahrder to stop thats all nobody knows either way if thats true or not its just that you migth aswell use it if you can as it makes no difference."

People are nuts for patching or playing this game online now, wait for the 20th when the game officially released. And even then, this could be a flagged copy of the game. If Microsoft wanted to hit users of modded 360's and piracy, all they have to do is release a game like this a few weeks before the general public gets their hands on it. Flag the copy so when idiots try to play the game online or patch the game MS is alerted and they capture your Xbox Live name, IP address and 360 serial numbers. Then wait a few weeks and then let the shit hit the fan... They could ban the 360's from the Live service, or take legal actions. I can't believe MS hasn't done this yet.

Also even if you play the game offline only and not connect to the net, your account will still show that you have played the game and any achievements you have made to your stats for your Live account. They can easily look this info up and see this.

As for me, I’m playing this game offline (Network cable unplugged), and storing the saves on a 2nd hard drive, and using an Xbox account that is only used offline.

I don't care. The console works without the Live crap as well.

Ha ha yeah right... if you're smart they don't even have your real address. And they would never bother to get it from the ISPs and take legal actions against a few end-users because it's not worth it and it gives them a bad image in the public.

wow, so loads of bs regarding the " MS banning "....
who fucking cares??
When I hacked my 360, from the start I knew it's a risk - piracy always has some risk in it.
So when I buy empty medias instead of full price retail games, I know there's a chnace that some day i'll get banned. so I'll just get a new 360. that's it.

If I can slow the process by not playing an unreleased game over Live... I will do so. Sure piracy has risks... but no need in walking around falshing a neon sign saying "I pirated this game!" IMHO.

Sure I can aford to buy a new XBOX 360... but I like to think i am smarter with my money than that...

I think if MS wanted to take action, they would have done so long time ago. But if they did, it would mean kicking out some golden dollar bills from their own home.

agreed mate. however, what is samerter? I mean, it's an obvious a cat - mouse game, and we never know when and if M$ are going to take some action. It can happen anytime, but than again, it may never happen.

Schtrom360Xtract_V3.1 - it's included in the archive with the patches. Dead easy to use, there's full instructions in the .nfo.

How would it give them a bad name? For bringing people that are breaking the law to justice? Whats the music industry doing to people downloaded a few mp3's? It's called a scare tatic.. Catch a few people and make an example out of em and you will get others to think twice about it before doing it..

Well, after playing two very disfunct but fun games (Lost Planet and Marvel Ultimate Alliance), I gotta ask, how does the savegame system work in this game?

Lost Planet rocks but Marvel Ultimate Alliance sucked and I would definitely not call that one fun. As for the saving system in Crackdown, the game seems to save automatically. The only manual saving you can do is when you exit the game. I would guess it saves after a mission or a significant event. I noticed it saves when you collect one of the many hidden items.

Ok now my question. Where in the hell do all the enemies keep coming from?! I wipe out hundreds and they are immediately replaced with hundreds more! Sometimes that is frustrating I think! There is certainly never a shortage of the bad guys!

May the NFOrce be with you always.

I think Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a lot of fun to play coop, I dunno if you have tried that or not.

About the save system in Crackdown, it's not like there is an hour or two before every time it saves, is there? That was my problem with LP and MUA, you cannot save when you want to and the save system in LP is totally gay.

Lost Planet saves whenever you enter a new section, what's wrong with that? I found it pretty fair.

Uhm it only saves when you have completed a mission and it is automatic, which means if you should die when doing a boss at the end of a level you have to start from scratch. Sorry but that savesystem sucks balls.

Huh? What? That's not true at all! When you've entered a new section and quit it saves your progress and you can start at the beginning of the section next time. And when you die during a boss battle you can continue from a checkpoint right before the battle.
