but otherwise max speed i've got for download is around 93mb/s (1gbit box) from a fast server |
Did I read that right??? Your downloading at 93mb per a second?? So technically you could dowload a 700mb Xvid in around 8 seconds????!!!!!!?!??!!
How much do you pay for a connection speed like that??

at least not for normal customers usually. But for business-lines you can get any and every speed, if you re ready to pay up for it.
With 10 and 100mbit connections becoming more and more available especially in bigger cities, i guess it is only a question of time till you can get 1gbit also more often (check isps in scandinavia, japan and korea for the highest speeds domestically available). I m still in slow-speed-land

I quit fxp scene for usenet ... considring my building is contracted to yahoo dsl I only get 300K or so transfer, but I get everything that I need over usenet ... 20$ monthly fee ... but its worth not having to do anything and get anything I want ... usenet is a great scener retirement plan to keep feeding my download addiction hehe
fuck ...

I see. Its mostly the ones in the big citys in Norway who get cheap 100mbit. I live outside town, so can get maximum 10/1 mbit.
