Naaah I think its the SecuROM version used in the german release that makes it go slower and be generally less responsive. For once the Starforce protected one runs better then the Securom..
Patches have been released to both so in the end the actual bug amount should be the same.

Genesis must be joking, releasing the game so late without a cracked update. Afaik the german retail version was unplayable because it ran very slow, the first patch fixed it.

Well it was the SecuROM checks that slowed it down, if its a rebuilt .exe it has no securom checks left and thus it should run faster.

well i don't think the english version is even released yet.
i hope when they do release it that it is not the same buggy piece of shit as the other versions.

ArmA: Armed Assault will be named ArmA: Combat Operations in the US.
Publisher is Atari, and the game will be released in May.

On webhallen it says that it will be released the 16th of february, which means friday.

if its not able to run on mid ranged computers with good fps and ok graphics, it fails. thats the harsh reality.

why do you think so? there is always somebody who has stronger pc config than you who can play this game. What do you think will be in one year? Maybe today are able to play just 10 ppl from 100, but in year it will be 50% and in two years 100%. Its just the question how eager you are after this game, and what r u able to sacrifice and when.
On the other hand, I hate bugs. and much more i hate pc game bugs, which are very present in this game and thats what really SUCKS. Look for the british version released in march. It should have all newest patches and optimized performance. |

I played ArmA GENESIS (german securom version) a bit and actually the game itself is quite cool but the AI is SOOOOO dumb. Sometimes the AI is just standing around doing nothing and I can come close to shoot 8 enemies with one mag. Sucks ass.
And some missions can't be completed because the AI is as dumb as shit.

I didn't play this one but the original game's AI felt kinda slow most of the time even on veteran mode, still it's by far the best war game I ever played.. I only wish we had more moves like some kind of quick roll and the ability to lean at corners, the movement seems kinda clumsy sometimes.

what ya mean? 505 are releasing it from the UK/EU to south africa-tomorrow...dunno what copy protection they will be using but my guess is FADE(like it was introduced in the earlier retail ones with the first patch)
