Don't visit the topics before you have seen the episode <- good practice
Besides, it's much easier to read without all these damn spoiler tags everywhere

WTF else would you expect in a "Lost Season 3" thread other than spoilers?! Why the fuck even go to that thread if you don't want to be spoiled?

The bus-hit can be easily explained, every M.D. has to have pretty tightly set schedules and routines. I think he was crossing the street near his job, may just be a matter of timing. With the resources of Dharma, it's not unlikely.
|
|
Spoiler: | Yes, but the bus' station was pretty far, so to hit him at that speed, the bus had to take off quite before the husband crossed the street. The husband was talking to his wife, frequently stopping, so the driver couldn't calculate the exact time he would cross the road. Like I said, it seemed pretty random. |

my theory ...
Spoiler: | first, her sister couldnt get pregnant so she started a scientific research. after some time the sister gets pregnant but she knows that the research isnt the reason of the pregnancy (thats why she wont publish her 'research'. there is just not cure/research
secondly, she wishes the guy death and it happens with the bus accident
now take these 2 things together: "she has a special (surreal) gift. something like Jesus' gift to turn water into wine (yeah rite ;-) the other guys in the flashback who are extremely interested in her research kidnap the lady to the island to finally get the solution of the artificial insemination. (they start the DHARMA project) she's pissed because she has no scientific solution but they wont believe her. they refuse to let her go ...
now comes her masterplan: she curses the guy and gives him a cancer tumor to blackmail him to let her off the island. for some unknown reason (for me) she is also blackmailed back. therefor she has to heal the guy again and she let the airoplane, with the doc inside, crash. the doc has to defeat the cancer. the girl has something to do with it why she has to heal the guy. (remember the scene where the others are looking at the crash. the lady was the only one unimpressed ;-)
what do you guys think? it is just a stupid surrreal gift |

Damn I hated that episode and now I hate that show more than ever. I don't even know why I keep watching this piece of shit...
That episode just proved that the writers didn't have a single clue to where this show is going...
In the first season, the "others" where some kind of mysterious folk with almost supernatural powers fighting and shooting like they just finished the Navy SEALS advanced training. But in this episode all of a sudden they appeared like completely normal people, and in that lame shootout scene they fought like they learned how to shoot from the Steve Wonder guide to advanced marksmanship.
That bitch Juliet should get a surprise sex from a white bear and fucked to death.
So many holes still uncovered... This show is doomed.

That was all an act right? They wore rags/fake beards etc. which Kate and the rest found later on from the lockers.

They wanted to keep the rest of the Dharma stations and what they were doing secret to the plane crash survivors, thus the scare tactics.

My guess would be that we still haven't seen the REAL others and the bunch that kdnapped jack are just dharma people who were sent to the island to deal/study the real others.

i dunno , they usually have multiple writers on shows that write different episodes and they dont write whole seasons at a time.
whats happening now probably wasnt even considered when they wrote season 1

Wow deep. NOT.
I bet this "time bending" stuff will go down the drainage just like their other "cool" ideas.
Numbers anyone? Pollar bears?

Yea, there are not enough sci-fi elements in this show. I bet the final conclusion will have nothing to do with aliens, anomalies, parallel universes, apocalypse, dystopia, time travel etc. It will just be some lukewarm secret company conspiracy with no supernatural stuff at all.
The numbers, bears, this strange statue with 3 toes - these are all red herrings that will probably be poorly concluded. Overall, Lost is only a drama/survival Series with a little mystery touch. And thats not making it special.
We'll see...there are a lot of episodes to go..I hope the series is going to change its style until then.

The first season was genuinely suspenseful and the mystery was a dark foreboding that you couldn't touch, feel or understand but sent shivers down your spine nonetheless. Okay, slight hyperbole but it's that feeling which is completely absent from subsequent seasons. Instead we are bombarded with well acted melodrama, contrivances and lots and lots of filler.
BUT it's still enjoyable and I'd wager the same people moaning about them not going to watch it ever again are the same people who tune in each week.

Yeah I complain about the show too but I don't post saying I'm never going to watch it again as if it's really the scourge of the devil.
