Can you tell us from what source you downloaded them? Bittorent, newsgroups, etc?
I would like to get it from newsgroups preferably.

Thanks

That would fall under "Requesting" which isn't allowed on the forums.

My Ultimate took about 12Gb. I made my Windows partition 30GB's to be safe.

I just finished installing ultimate and it took up 10gigs, so i got 4gigs free. A bit on the low side but who cares, it wont be my main os anyway.
Theres a modified timerstop crack out now, no need to change the date or whatever. Just install the 30 day trial, run the patch and your set... idiot proof i tell ya Smile
I also used windows update, got all the patches and the timer is still locked.

Pretty lame news if your a creative hardware owner...

Hi guys,

Just got an update for you.

Due to additional requirements in the Windows Vista driver certification process, the release of the final signed drivers for the Sound Blaster range will move out beyond our initial projected date until early March. The current Beta drivers are still valid for use under Vista and are required to take advantage of the benefits of Creative ALchemy with the Sound Blaster X-Fi range to restore multichannel audio and EAX to your games. We appreciate your understanding for this change to the schedule as we work to bring you the best experience for your Sound Blaster series cards while adhering to the requirements of this new operating system.

That's fucking ridiculous.

I'm tired of excuses. They've known what Vista is all about for ages.

Same for quite a few companies, it's silly. It's not like Vista just appeared one day, it's hard to understand how so many companies have hit the Vista release date after Vista being in beta for years, and having little or no driver / program support for their products.

Creative are just stalling time to have as much people upgrading to their crappy X-Fi as possible. They know they have to release it sometime to avoid class-action suit, but they are taking their sweet time.

I think the worst of the worst right now as far as Vista driver support is Nvidia.

I am a little confused. Is the BillGates the real final version and when installing it and selecting the "Ultimate" Vista, does one have the real final Windows Vista Ultimate version? Or is it better to get one of the releases that has come after the vista release date?

Inatan, thanks for the faq. I was able to instal the timestopper with little difficulty and visa ultimate is working on my laptop pretty dandy (btw for those that don't know about aero, it actually has 3 visual modes, 2-4, each one for a tier of video cards. GMA accelerators will be visual mode 2, the least amount of aero effects, my x1300 is mode 3, and power house cards will be mode 4).

May wanna make a note that you need to register for their message board to see/download the latest timestopper, as that is the only way to see attachments.

Just saw this article http://www.taliyanews.com/en/archive/2007/02/iranian_hackers_possess_window.php and http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37441

Quote:
ACCORDING TO AN Iranian news site, cracked versions of Microsoft's Vista are doing the rounds of the country's markets.

Taliya News reckons Iranian spods have hacked their way through the software and have "managed to beat" all the Volish "anti-copying tricks" so that they can flog copies of the software at prices people are prepared to pay.

Apparently, an Iranian software company doles out "private serial numbers" for the cracked Vistas so that the bent copies seem legal.

The cracked Windows Vista versions are reportedly on sale for 80,000 Rials (around $Cool around the country.

According to the site, the cracked versions can be registered with Microsoft without detection. ยต

Anyone believe if its authentic or not?

I installed the Ultimate from Bill Gates and somehow I started with 29 days after the timestopper patch. That was about 2 months ago and yesterday it was down to 27 days (same today). The only thing I could think is that the computer was running overnight which is not usual as I'm normally on my my XP partition. Anyone have any ideas?

Use easybcd to edit the vista boot manager and the relevant crack quoted in the vista faq thread.

2 months ago there was no relevant working crack for the vista evaluation grace period timer, please use the latest working crack quoted in the faq.

Yeah, the first versions of the crack had flaws that caused them to just stop working for periods of time, or until a restart. Can't stress this enough: Use the newest crack avaible, not some stolen cheap knock-offs.
