I still play SoF2 sometimes when I'm bored. I have this savegame in the airport level and I play it over and over and over and over. I don't like SoF2 very much. Story is crap and the behavior of the pistols is UBERCRAP! Graphics aren't very good either, nor the AI. But it's simple fun to shoot down all the enemies and having your own visions while completing the level. For example, "this time I'll just kill them by Headshots. nobody has to survive!" or "kills only with smokegrenades!"

And the best is: I can start the game, have some fun and close it in a few seconds!! I really want to play gothic 3, but the loading times are soooooo damn long and then you play for half an hour, save and the next time you want to play you've got to wait again. Over and over. Waiting kills games!

Test Drive Unlimited is the perfect example for a game that looks great, has lot's of content (different high quality cars, nice enviroment) and loads in seconds!!

Hope that Crysis will feature Motionblur in DX9 (Pixel Shader 3) too. And I hope that it will have short loadingtimes! Farcry loaded way too long!

^ah, remember that one.

Lots of people didnt play sof2 because of the (leaked?) beta that was out. I really liked the retail. Almost as good as Sof1

Haven't seen any "real" Motionblur in any game till now. OK. ATM I have a ps 2.0 card, but that'll change soon Wink Hope to have some nice effects on the screen Smile And the map in TDU is way larger than the ones in FarCry Wink

Just Cause has real motion blur. And it loads faster those maps in TDU, because its a race game, theres not much is to load actualy.

Most of you most likely have read this, but some probably not:
Cevat Yerli: As most people would have seen, all but the largest trees in the jungle can be shot down or destroyed with heavy weapons. In addition to this, almost every object in the world can be picked up, shot, exploded or pushed around. Basically if it looks like it should react to the player, it does. Being set on a small island the construction of many of the dwellings can’t stand up to the modern weapons of war (and nano-enhanced suits!). Huts can be destroyed to escape an ambush, or to ambush those inside. Scaffolding can be systemically destroyed and small fuel canisters can be stacked up to create spectacular ambushes. We also use advanced rope physics, breakable glass, physical waves in the beautiful oceans and a physically correct particle system adhering to all physics in the world. Smoke gets blown around by explosions and moves off with the shifting wind.

Cevat Yerli: The motion blur comes in several flavors depending on the system specs and player preference. We have a global blur effect that is applied when the player moves his camera very quickly, for example sprinting or getting hit by a large explosion. Also we have object-based motion blur that applies only to objects that are moving. The combination of these create an extremely cinematic feel to the visuals. Depth of Field (DOF) is another feature that makes the in game camera feel like human eyes, objects further away get blurrier. It’s a simple concept but hasn’t been seen in many games. A new feature we have added for a true cinema feel is a slight DOF applied to the player weapon so when your eyes are focused on the action in front of you, anything close goes out of focus. If you’re reading this using a monitor take note of how the keyboard looks when you are reading off the screen, it lacks all the detail you would see when focused on it. It is not a feature everyone would want to use since our weapon models are so beautiful but it’s there for those players who want to believe they are taking part in a movie!

Ya but the source engine came out how much earlier? The cryengine 2 is also brand new for this game, source engine was the best for it's time (cryengine was my favorite) well source is behind now, so they might revamp it.

I mean by hype and by technology relative in time. Also source is still very popular so I think this one might be a nice contestant.

Yeah, but don't forget that Source Engine is one of the most optimized engine imho.

HL2 was playable on 9700pro when it came out when Far Cry was killing most of the existing hardware with the first CryEngine version... and i fear that Crysis will do the same Wink

Yeah right. Source hl2 has:
long loading times
small maps.
flat graphics
low rez textures
stuttering bug due to loading on some pcs
motion induced sickness
it ran really bad on some comps and that has never been fixed. Far Cry WAS fixed [Nvidia fx cards realtime shader compile] and some shadows optimizations etc.
