The other actors are also great. I hope Kane can pull his role off with such a great cast around him as he seems to be the weakest link now |
Well he did great among James Earl Jones & Michael Biehn |
The most hilarious thing was in the interview, when he was asked how he did get the role and he answers, that he had gotten it in a scratch-lottery, because he had gotten three kanes
And dont get me wrong, i love the Kane-Character, it just that it must be tougher to work with pros than the stuff from the first game(s) where mainly his portrayal of Kane made me play the game through more than once

I think it's safe to say if they fuck this game up they'll be jumping in the holes they dug for themselves.

Good news for the PC-crowd.
Quote: | EA announces a Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars: Kane Edition, a special edition of the coming RTS sequel with some special content. Both editions of the game are due for PCs in March 2007, with the Kane Edition carrying a $59.99 MSRP, $10.00 more than the standard edition:
LOS ANGELES, Calif., December 22, 2006 – Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars™: Kane Edition (C&C 3: Kane Edition) - a special, numbered collector’s edition for the PC that will ship in March 2007 simultaneously with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars™ (C&C 3). Filled with an enormous amount of exclusive content, C&C 3: Kane Edition will be the definitive collectible for any Command & Conquer™ or Real-time Strategy (RTS) game fan.
C&C 3: Kane Edition will include an exclusive bonus DVD featuring a behind the scenes documentary, deleted scenes and a blooper reel from the live action video shoots, a series of gameplay strategy videos from the game designers themselves, and more. C&C 3: Kane Edition will also feature exclusive in-game content including five new multiplayer maps and three unique unit skins—one for each of the three factions in the game. Fans will also enjoy five exclusive wallpapers.
“The Command & Conquer fans are among the most dedicated in the world. It’s very exciting to be able to create a special bonus edition of C&C 3 with our fans in mind,” said Mike Verdu, Vice President and Executive Producer at EALA. “The exclusive maps, strategy tutorials, special unit skins and ‘making of’ video provide hours of enjoyment to anyone who loves Command & Conquer. The ‘blooper reel’ is just flat out funny. I can’t wait for Command & Conquer fans to get their hands on this game.” |

Of course your typical EA-marketing ploy. On the 360 they even try to sell you cheat codes and unlockable game assets for money.
If I buy C&C3 I will just get the regular version, then get the bonus-DVD from *elsewhere* (or just get the whole shit *elsewhere*)

Im buying it, Hell the worst thing which can happen is it turns out like Generals and even that had a fulfilling campaign and multiplayer. Although im sure with the help of the community and the demand of fast paced sport RTS, then this will leap on to become the biggest and perhaps best C&C RTS in its history.

In case you haven't heard, the secret alien message from the C&C 3 newsletter has been decoded. It says the following:
MESSAGE FROM THE SCRIN WE ARE COMING"
This means that the C&C 3 aliens are indeed called the Scrin. Everyone has been sensing this since the announcement of the alien faction, but now it is official.
Weee!

This game doesn't seem to offer anything new to the genre. I used to love RTS games but judging by the screenshots this game will not be very interesting to play. Too bad.

Perhaps for you, I really did enjoy the previous C&C games and with improve multiplayer support (and better network code, see C&C generals on that :/) And with the continuation of the Single Player campaign will please the fans.

Unfortunately there seems to be this alien species that has some sort of ugly bug-like creatures as units. That's not what C&C is for me. I am sure the old Westwood would have never done such a stupid design choice.
Furthermore, according to the screenshots only few units can be seen on the screen at once because the view is so close. I don't understand why the view has to be so close. It does nothing but bad to the gameplay..
For this game to bring me back to RTS it has to offer something refreshing (and bug-like creatures are NOT refreshing). Maybe it will, I will surely try it when it comes out. I do own original copies of Dawn and Sun. But neither of those games had any stupid bugs or spiders as units.

Unfortunately the "Scrin" was a part of both Tiberian Dawn & Tiberian Sun (especially in the last hence the space ship) Maybe the design werent in the mind of Westwood but at least the aliens itself. And from what I have seen in videos the view point is ok and doesnt seem bothersome at all. They are not trying to refresh a damn thing really they are trying to make a C&C game and thats what you should expect.

Reserved it as well but... Last time I tried downloading something reserved, like the Supreme Commander demo, their superfast servers gave me 30KB/s. I got it lightspeed elsewhere. I mean, there should be a point in reserving the demo and downloading it from subscriber servers, but they get it no earlier than the rest of the hosts, and provide no more bandwidth.

I think I remember a few demos appearing on fileplanet exclusively a few hrs or even 24 hrs earlier. Of course there will be torrents and it will be posted in the newsgroups soon enough but why bother if that lil p.o.s. client of theirs will grab it automatically...

dang.. some updates from planetcnc.com:
I just got a tip-off that the C&C3 demo's release date is now officially February 20th, i.e. one week from today. Although we reported earlier about FilePlanet subscribers being able to "reserve" the demo, there's now an actual C&C3 demo page up at FilePlanet that announces the date and provides a convenient button to have your FP download client queue it up and be ready to go as soon as the date hits.
Those of you who aren't subscribers, don't worry - the demo will be available to everyone on the 20th, you'll just have to manually hit up FilePlanet and download it the old-fashioned way.
So, in other words, bookmark this page!
Update: Cypher pointed out to me that FilePlanet page no longer specifies February 20th as the release date (now it doesn't give any release date). I don't know what this means.
Update 2: VM pointed out this official response from Predator on the C&C3 forums:
The date is not official. We will be releasing this demo in conjunction with FilePlanet as we did with BFME2, but they put the cart before the horse.
We will announce the date when ready and that is hopeful for later this week.
So, in other words, the demo is coming soon, and quite possibly on the 20th, but not necessarily on the 20th.
