G00D NEWS FOR ALL.

"There is no specific time of the day it is getting launched. It will be on the 22nd, but it will launch when it's ready and the downloads are tested"

this can be taken as an official confirmation that the open beta is coming today sometime.

Needs a mandatory patch, and the download points to "none"

why are you guys even talking about playing on closed version?
when the public version will come today?

closed version = history, garbage. the new one gunna be better with alot of fixes.
and FYI i beleave a closed version serial key can only be activated 2 times
because my friend had a key, he gave it to a person and then me, when i tried to activate it told me the key was activated to many times and would not launch the game.

That's 3.65, which was the only closed beta patch. If you start the game with it it'll ask to download a new patch, which, as I said, points to "none".

The game works fine I just started it, you must still be trying to connect to atari server's there's a workaround that was posted a few weeks ago on the closed forums, go into your my documents folder > tdu > savegame > playername > delete the commondt.sav files from your playersave dir's and try again should work fine.

The workaround is only for if the game is already installed and you`re stuck connecting to atari servers thru your current profile, that workaround is only to allow offline mode with your current game progress still intact that is all.

No you would need a cd-key still unless there's a workaround for that, I have an idea that might work but I can't be certain either. Back when closed beta was still up and running people would reinstall TDU and not get a activation screen this was due to a text file being created in a directory, this text file was the cdkey it could be possible since the servers are offline that you could just create this file just after install and enter a bunch of random numbers?. Like i said it's far fetched but if the servers aren't online to auth it could be possible to do so if you`re really willing to download 3+ gigs for a slim chance of it working then give that a go.
