GRIN is doing the PC version again and , like GRAW 1, it's first person only.

Their saying Ubi Paris and Redstorm. Says nothing about GRIN.

So, what's the difference between the GRAW and Rainbox Six series?
They look pretty much the same.. I just started playing RS Vegas and haven't tried GRAW...

They never release PC information. Red Storm does the MP for x360 and SP is done by Ubi Paris. PC is probably GRIN again. Fuck you Ubi for bringing another crap!

Originally, R6 were supposed to be close-quarters combat specialists, while GR were the military elites... Now the differences are blurred.

Ah. Well, I'm enjoying R6Vegas quite a bit. Only my system (2.8 p4 2gb ram, 600GT) is quite sluggish at anything over 800x600.
Woe Is Me.

RS6 is more of your in the states squad, your swat elites and as the other guy said about GRAW. RS6 is no longer in the tactic genre anymore cause they found people were having to much difficulty controlling the squads as well as planning out the tactics used so it's slowly bene going more torwards action FPS and I think ghost recon is slowly doing the same thing. People are just too much of a wuss to play the game how it's supposed and cause they suck at it they bitch piss and moan. In turn it fucked the series up. Honestly the more ghost recon goes action the more its going to suck. RS6 I don't really see being that bad in action cause of the style of their tactics.

Vegas is actually the best in the series for me. I'm all for squad tactics (as in Swat4), but the plan ahead of the game was just tiresome and clumsy. Similarly in GRAW, you had to micromanage the team in order to achieve something...

agree'd, but I do like being able to choose my entry point around a building, not being dropped on a building top and told get to it. but none the less, SP is fun

Didn't see this video posted, just found it. Wasn't too thrilled about the first GRAW, but with how good this one is looking might give it a spin. Especially if they improved on the AI and interface. Anyways those new techs in that video are pretty impressive, especially the simulated smoke and lighting effects.

great vid! the gimpy girl in the beginning seemed like she was struggling to walk.
the depth sprites for smoke and ambient occlusion are fantastic! finally, smoke that doesn't look cheap.

Not when it comes to SC... But, yeah, sometimes I do judge things a bit too harshly. Atleast I have the decency to admit it.

Copy pasted so take it with a grain of salt.
After previously the GRAW 2 release date was set to March, 2007, and first development details. Now Ubisoft has officially announced Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the Xbox 360. DirectX 10 will be the technology behind the PC version. The game is currently in development by the award-winning teams that created the original Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter in Ubisoft’s Paris and Red Storm Studios

you need to play the 360 version first there's no way in hell the pc version comes even close to the 360 version visually. The graphics and lighting are just sick. Sorry but the GRIN version looks the same as GRAW with different lighting scheme. Yea yea the pc can do a higher resolution. Doesnt matter when the sum of the parts is greater. Sick visuals, constant framerate. Id go as far as to say GRAW2 is the most graphically stunning game ive played. I love my pc games as much as anyone but sometimes you just have to face the hard facts. It looks better on the 360

I kind of liked GRAW - but I wish it was a more northern country...getting boring with all the desert games.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Guess you didn't bother reading the link I posted.
To save you the trouble I'll paste the info from ghostrecon.net:
Quote: |
Ubisoft sent out a release today correcting an error in earlier information regarding the release date for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on the PC.
The release states that the 9th of March dated circulated over the past few weeks was an error, and the correct release date is in fact the 30th of March - which is the date we published here at GR.net on the 18th of December 2006.
|
Most online stores have changed their release date to June, so I guess we'll have to wait.
The fact that Ubisoft
1) haven't said anything about this and
2) don't really care too much for the PC community when it comes to supporting their games or even releasing them on time (SCDA anyone?)
kind of proves the stores are right. I at least have given up on a March release date.
