I have the latest cracks for WGA however.... when attempting update of IE7, it asks me to download an Active X something or other and after I download it and run it, it fails, but I have the latest anyway, there are no updates.. but its a bitch to even try and download it, and DirectX

I did it this way : I had the internet explorer 7 download : IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe
Then I downloaded a magic regfile and applied it in my registry (it changes the cd-key to a generic one used by many educational comps) Then the installer passed the check.
EDIT: It also worked with Media Player 11. Do not install anything Micro$oft asks you for validation !!!

Used to use FF, but tried out IE7. Some ppl at work have FF, when i use their PCs its just weird. I guess I am to used to IE7 now. Think its a BIG improvement to IE6, at least in speed and CPU usage. Its very fast compared. Should maybe try out Opera, heard its even better, interface, speed and CPU wise that is.

OK, but the tab it opens is based on the version of internet explorer you have installed, right ?
XP come with what ? ie version 5.5 or something? You need a newer version anyway for safety and compatibility when using msie (even in a firefox tab I suspect).

Finally, I solved this issue last week - and made my illegit windows - LEGIT- no more cracks needed, WGA free crap. My XP version now receives all updates automatically.
1) I Had to download a cracked version of IE7.0 to get this started
2) I grabbed a tool-kit that makes your windows XP copy genuine 100%. Changes windows key, copy few files- takes like 1 minute.
3) Once your windows is verified 100%Genuine - use your IE7 cracked version to download updates forever - no hassles.
Been working fine for weeks- installed on 3 other pc's
