so that those who dont have net access for their 360 can play games that require it....
know a guy at work who cant play th project 8 without a dash update...not included with the game...he has tried 8 or so copies of the game... and under game uk's new returns policy cant get a refund, they will only swap like for like... am going to have to get him to bring his 360 to mine, plug into my network & update his dash

I don't think game updates are the same as the Xbox Live updates, the game updates that you use when you play games are to make the game play and nothing much else.

The spring update came with games released after, and the fall update might aswell though MS might not see the fall update as being important enough.

I think the Fall Update is included on the Lost Planet disc, a friend who bought his 360 the same day as Lost Planet got released had to install som insanely large patch before playing it, took like 5 minutes.

Game can say whatever they like, unless the law has changed people can legally get a refund up to 14 days after purchase for any reason
Microsoft are pretty good when it comes to the xbox, get him to phone them and it wouldn't surprise me if they had disks pressed / burnt for people in this situation.

the steeringwheel comes with a special version of PGR3, which contains the fall update.
plus you can get the updates in iso's i think, burn em to a disc and run em on your 360(legally).

This is correct. I updated both my dash & xbox1 compat. by doing this.

a bit offtopic.
but i havent had my flash xbox360 connected since late last year.
is it safe to connect it ?
or is the dashboard update already release which disables the firmware flash?
