Finally got round to playing this properly. Started 7 hours ago and Im on mission 8. Not sure how many there are but I have to say this is the best looking game I have ever seen on any format. The creature design and environments really are exceptional and the level of detail and scale of destruction is like nothing I have ever seen in a game.

Really?? I was thinking it looks rather weak for a AAA next-gen game. Especially the textures lack detail imo. And it has heavy tearing. I'm only in level 3 so maybe the graphics will get better but currently it doesn't look much better than RE4 on the last generation.

It doesn't come close (not even a mile in viscinity) to Gears of War in visuals, but it doesn't look bad.

have to say the models of the monsters are the best I’ve seen in a game but the levels and textures are medium in comparison with the monsters

Maybe people disagree with my comments because I play my 360 on a 15" portable and the rest of you have monster HD plasmas or something. Also I have never seen any tearing in the 50 odd games Ive played. Is that something that occurs in high definition?

Tearing has to do with your HDTV, not with the Xbox 360. If the Responsetime on your TV is bad then you will get Screentearing. I have a Samsung HDTV and i haven´t noticed tearing in any 360 game yet.

Tearing is to do with framerate exceeding vertical refresh.

Response time is associated with blurring (or ghosting).

How do I get extensions IMAGE.DVD and IMAGE.000 so I can use with IMGBURN? For some reason CLONEDVD is really buggy with my PC.

How do you get extensions? Do you mean enable them because they are not in view by default? Folder options and view tab. Uncheck the tick box for hide extensions for known file types.

When you extract the release you get a big image file and small .dvd file that you can load in Imgburn, the names don't matter at all.

Thats true actually Ive seen .000, .img and .iso and never had to change them even when the .dvd file has been missing from the release. Providing the name of the image is the same as the line below the layer break information in the .dvd file, should burn fine.

Urgh. Tell me about it Rolling Eyes

Seriously, LP is a fantastic game - no doubt about that - but Colonies is MORE OF THE SAME! It's just got a bunch of new multiplayer maps and a time-trial for the singleplayer? And that's supposedly worth another £40? Fuck off Capcom, you greedy cunts. I'm glad I've got my 360 flashed, because I'll just download this instead.

Yep.

or when they release GOTY-versions of the game that is exactly the same, except it comes with some maps, that should have been free to begin with.

Did not like lost planet btw. Never played it thru. The gameplay was just boring. Dead Rising was a much better game imho. Even though Otis is a fucktard for calling all the time.
